Well, not exactly today, but last week. I changed out my BMW COP's because I was having erratic misfires. Went with LSx coils which are known to be bullet proof, but a pain to install.

It was better, then the issue returned on the way to Laguna Seca for the Rolex reunion. We made it there and back, with some constant troubleshooting.

We were in the lower "reserved camping" there was a golf Bavaria on the tier above us. Anyone here?

I'll give you a hint......it might have been me GolfBavaria......Dang, I didn't see your Bav and I drove by there a few times, my buddies were camping right on the track in the same campground as you with a Westy pop-up.

Well darn, I should have walked up. We were in the next area directly behind/below where that westy is.
Yeah, different Westy that my friends were in below you, right on the track there. Newer one, more squared off, not sure the year. There was a 95 white chevy panel van parked next to them. They had a nice little set up down there. Great place to camp and view track. What a great experience, I really enjoyed the camping there, met some great people.

Seems like there are a lot of deadbeat bidders for cars on eBay.
No surprise, the hobby is dotted with cynics and flippers, and the market is rife with easily-influenced buyers...over time their perceptions are changed, regardless of how many cars change hands!

I support your efforts to document. It's fun to look back and see the progress. I might have some parts for you as your work develops. Cheers!

Pretty much what I do every day - drove it. Up to Yuba City for a ballgame, out to Eldorado Hills for a ballgame, etc...

Laid under an E34 in the mud yesterday to get a Getrag 260. GPS speedo in the future I guess. $111.00 - a lot cheaper than a 265.

I put a GPS speedo in mine a few years ago. Velcroed it to the top of the column and it reflects off the face of the cluster. It works great and when I change rear gears I still have an accurate speedo. This picture shows the mechanical speedo error with 3.25 gears.

The 260 doesn’t have a removable bell housing and came in three versions supposedly. Will it mate to the block?

Edit: from Don

The 260/5 and 260/6 fit just fine to the block. But No speedo drive for either.
The 260/5 shift linkage mount is ok and the 260/6 mount is not ok for a coupe
If you had to use a 260 you would want the 260/5
