I had to get a bit inventive so that I could undo one of my rear stub axle nuts.
The first one opened by using a 3 foot long breaker bar .
The second one needed heat and about 6 feet of leverage
And a specially adapted “gate clamp” ;)
Ps the piece of 4x2 at the top hinge of the “clamp” was the crucial piece of the puzzle, to make the gate clamp function properly.
Before using the gate clamp ( patent pending) I did get some help from 1 of my teenage kids but in spite of our best efforts all I was doing was lifting her off the ground every time I tried to open the nut .
It’s off now thankfully, my god it was stubborn !

Installed CSL fender trims. Not sure how much I like them on this color. What do you think?

I'm always struggling to install them on the car after it have new paint etc.

I would like in the future to prepare the holes or - even better - nut rivets for these.

For me looks nice. :)

With the help of Terry Connors and the forum figured out the ground was the issue with the weak beams on drivers side. Also used baking soda, DI water, lint free swabs and new bulbs to make the light look brand new.

My Ram-Flo air filters had half of the foam disintegrated after 3 years and 11K miles. I put on the Pierce Manifold 1-inch trumpets-the only one that will clear the brake booster straight out of the middle carb- and the snap-on screens. The car still idles and runs as strong as before.

Just got home from the Orlando Bimmer Invasion. What a whirlwind weekend. 7 hour drive down to Orlando in my 72 CSi, over 3 hours of that in absolute downpour. Other than my right windshield wiper falling off at one point, the coupe was impeccable. At the event, which if you’re not familiar is geared towards the younger “modified” crowd of BMW fans. Think Fast and Furious with Bimmers. That said, BMW is trying to attract younger buyers to the brand so at the request of our CCA chapter I agreed to bring my 72 and my 2013 M3 Lime Rock Park Edition ( which my wife drove). There had to be close to 1000 cars there. We were stunned to win one of the two “best classic” trophies.
