What did you do to your E9 today?

Well done !
It must be a bit nerve racking going for the first drive.
What if it didn’t match up to what you hoped it would be .
I have owned mine for about 9 and a half years have put a massive amount of time into restoring her and I have never driven her once …
Yet !
I’ll get there some day .
Anyway congratulations on the first drive !!
I've had mine for 9 years almost to the day and I've driven it about 60 miles in total, split evenly between Maui and Austin. I bought it right before we moved to the mainland and had to get it running and then registered before I could ship it. Then in Austin I took it out for one quick meetup not too far from home with the Hawaii plates but though it ran, it has a list of issues, ranging from timing issues due to a funky distributor to rust issues on the right side so it's been waiting patiently for its restoration. I live in Jacksonville Florida now so the car has been moved twice for a total of 4,600 miles from where I bought it. I've collected most of the parts it needs, now to build the garage for the restoration. I'm sure you'll find the reward well worth the effort in the end.

Heading north to the Lewis & Clark Classic Rally lewisandclarkclassicrally.org
Four rallies in two days! I hope to see some of you there.
Here are a few of the cars that were there, 25 rally cars & about 30 tour cars; had a great time, sunny but not too hot, we made some errors but managed third in class & fourth overall! The Northwest Classic northwestclassicrally.org is August 3-6, come on out for another great rally.

Installed the new right front brake hoses and new hard lines today. My tube bending on the new steel lines was really close to the originals and only needed a small amount of tweaking. All buttoned up. Next up, the bleeding :( Now that new hoses are in place, I decided to cut one of the old ones and examine how much the channel that is supposed to carry brake fluid, has closed off. I was astonished at how this hose had virtually collapsed. Like eating all the cholesterol you want and then having an Xray of your arteries!;)

How old are the old hoses ?

Changed out the stock coil for a red bosch (Brazil). I had already bypassed the ballast. Seems to have smoothed out a slight hesitation at higher (> 5500) RPMs. Pulls nicely to red line now, not that I do that a lot. The engine just feels and seems like its running better. Very pleased.

Hard to understand that even Pertronix needs 12v but the coil needs 9v which is why there is a resistor with Pertronix and points.

Purchased important items for legends next week. Stop by and enjoy a ice cold one with me out of my vintage cooler!
