I went out to drive my coupe over the weekend and the clutch pedal went straight to the floor! I got the flashlight out and looked for fluid everywhere and I think it's coming from the slave cylinder. Bah. Another project added to my list.

Drove around Santa Monica & Malibu. Could get used to this pretty easily.

Replaced oil pressure sending unit.
My coupe has been leaking oil at the rear of the engine. Leaked when engine was running. The switch and the area around looked a little oily so I hoped that was the issue. (And not the dreaded rear main seal)
I replaced the sending unit today. It was a bit of a bear, as it’s mounted on the intake side of the head up near the firewall below the fuel injection harness, very tight squeeze. I then let it idle for awhile and went for a test drive and so far so good.
Looks like I may have dodged a bullet.

Installed the new Petri screws and washers, looks niiice!

IMG_201.jpg

I had my son with me during the operation, and I concentrated a bit too much on the screws for a couple of seconds, oops.
He obviously really likes the flag mirrors, and now he knows how to remove one the wrong way and install one the right way:D

He seems to be handling the mirror very carefully. Nice work!

Picked it up from the upholsterer. Brand new set of leathers and carpets from World Upholstery installed. Very pleased with the results!

If the ZF guibo has same part number as the Getrag (which it should because of the flange) then yes it should fit. SFDon can confirm. I checked mine yesterday after 2 years of running and it looks brand new.

Will it work with the 4 speed ZF?

Drove it like my DD. :) What a luxury! My usual tank of a DD, my E39 Touring, is in my barn getting some attention. Weather here is optimum, 21C, sunny. chance to get out there and answer unlimited questions about what car this is. Running excellent, feeling especially lucky! No rush to get dasvagon back on the road, will be checking weather, this could be deciding factor and influence my motivation for completing repair. ( BTW, limited to smilie face selections.) Mike
