What did you do to your E9 today?

Drove it in sunny but cool temps. Yes, been over a month since I had my Coupe out, but today was a beautiful sunny day, got out there and the car felt very strong, like better than last time I was out. Temperature only got to about 10 Celsius today, a lot cooler than the 15-28 degrees I was driving it in this summer, and I could feel the difference. I have read that cooler air is more dense, which equates to more oxygen molecules being drawn into each cylinder with each stroke. My Coupe has pair of Weber 32/36 and are very well dialled in. I have felt similar cold temperature exuberance with my Healey and its twin SUs, and it was great to feel this effect in my Coupe today. What a blast! :)

It wasn't today, but about a week ago, I got around to sorting a wiring issue with my modernized Becker Kurier cassette / Bluetooth stereo.

Posting now to drop an endorsement for Chrome London, the company that makes these units. I was at a loss and so contacted their CS line via Whatsapp. To my surprise, they responded, despite it being 11pm London time, and then stayed in to help for at least an hour. They helped the following day as well and stayed engaged until the issue was resolved. Top notch customer service and a top notch product.

I probably gave them a shout out years ago when I first installed the unit but this was the first time having to rely on their support, so it's worth mentioning again.

Ps. Excuse the dust and lint. The car hadn't been properly cleaned in 5 years. Amazing how much dirt can accumulate with it just sitting in storage.
 
As documented in another thread, got my horn working. Also removed and repaired the clock per the instructions in the VDO clock repair thread. Tomorrow hopefully finishing up the cleanup of the under-dash wiring and then closing up that area for a bit.

Paint Decontamination My new paint job had developed a gritty feel, and I wanted to restore the slickness of the ceramic coating. Here’s the process I used:

Step 1: Wash
Washed the car using CarPro Reset Shampoo with a foam cannon.

Step 2: Chemical Decontamination
Applied Iron X and a tar remover. In hindsight, neither was really necessary, as they didn’t make much difference. Washed with foam cannon between chemical decontamination.

Step 3: Mechanical Decontamination
Used a fine-grade NanoScrub mitt, followed by a very light clay bar session with Optimum No Rinse as lubricant.

Step 4: Restore Slickness (SiO₂ Topper)
Applied Gtechniq C2 Liquid Crystal to bring back the slick, glossy feel.

Results:
The results were excellent—paint slickness was fully restored. The NanoScrub mitt ended up being the key step, as the chemical decontamination didn’t remove much on its own.

that’s a Wow!
 
Clay bar does wonders but I’ve found I always have to follow it with swirl mark removal, at least for dark colors. Luckily I don’t have many dark cars :)
 
Big day! My 20-year-old son who convinced me to buy the car was home for Thanksgiving and we did the final reassembly of rear window motors, replaced under dash panels that I had cleaned up and flocked, finalized wiring for rear brake light LED, finished wiring up city lights, etc. He finally got to drive the car today!

Took Jbbrjaw for a spin on the new 16x7 and 16x8 custom Alpina 3 piece wheels and enjoyed the awesome stereo after listening to the beautiful engine.

the wheels look great! we know the car looks fabulous + performs wonderfully ... great color combination. love the improvements to the seats / door panels with the Singer material (embossed leather?). so here's the only question ... did you look at the chrome wheel nuts vs. the black?
