did it have a SKU # ???My local Ace Hardware has a good selection of springs. I picked one the right length (2.5 in) and end configuration, and it works fine. $3. And it is a PITA to install.

That is likely way too stiff, it needs a looser spacing.

I looked at that one and it was much stiffer than #104.
I'm going to try both, I have a cassette player in my glove box that wants to make the door come crashing down with its weight so maybe a stiffer spring is in order. I will report back.
