I drove my car home on Tesla power after 26 months in the shop! It was a great feeling. Thanks to all the hard work from Tyler and Brett along the way, then @jefflit as he joined the party and provided his insights and skills (and following me home in case I didn’t make it:)

i did in fact make it home and took the kids to do a few errands before putting her to bed for the night. She’s taking a midnight snack now.

Finally got the trunk lid latch back from the plater, stretched and glued an ill-fitting rubber trunk gasket in place, and was able to close my trunk lid flush with the rear fenders. Now I can drive the car if it ever stops raining.

Met up with 3 friends for breakfast, cars were a ‘69 Spitfire, a ‘61 Sprite, and my previously done up ‘69 Fiat 124 sport coupe. The new owner bought a new one in 1968 and has been really happy with this one and has continued to keep it sorted and and driving well. My ‘74 3.0 CS got a 120 mile round trip and was a delight. A good Saturday morning for us all!

My e9 is now home after being stored at a friend's garage for over a year. So when a local Porsche group announced a drive for this morning, the coupe was the my obvious choice. Someone had to represent Munich (there was only one other non-Stuttgart car and he ended up parking next to me). I didn't take another photo before leaving, but there were probably twice as many cars than the photo shows.

Do you know how I know you are in Orange County?

Now that my car is home as my daily driver, I took it to its first Cars and Coffee this morning. It got more attention than all the Ferraris and 911s that’s for sure:).
