1974 3.0 CS With M88 Engine (3.5 CSM)

Just joining this thread. Regarding your 28 years of life.. My situation is similar, though not quite as long. I bought my 1972 3.0 CS in 2006. Planned to restore it right away, but had pther business to attend to. Moved in 2009, and put it in a garage. Been there since. Just now starting to collect parts to restore her as I approach retirement. I wouldn't say those 18 years of life "got inthe way, but the sure were higher priority! I'll be catching up on this thread over the next few days. Saw a beuatiful M88 powered E9 back in about 2005 during Pacific Sharkfest in San Luis Obispo.

OK, I did some trivial work on the car.

Picture one is no stripe.

Picture two is someone else’s car with a stripe and letters on the front quarter panel.

Picture three is my car with a stripe, but no letters.

Which of the three photos looks the best to the audience?

One Antigravity ATX20-hd. ( Ultimately removed.)

Or, lead acid/AGM: two Batteries Plus 12v 24HL-BS AGM12/0.

Long story, but the Antigravity was removed because the dumb installer guy ( that’s me) had busted the brushes in the alternator and it wasn't charging the Lithium Antigravity unit. I removed Antigravity unit.

With 90% confidence, there wasn't a compatability issue. The broken brushes were the problem. I changed to the AGMs and then found the brush problem after the two AGMs were in place. I left well enough alone.

Hi,

Working on the batteries also now, but the PC925 of odyssey don’t fit due to their hight, 2cm too high.

You initially used the ATX-20, how did you install it? Its current seize is 6.89 x 3.4 x 5.12 inches (LxWxH) which is too high without hitting the rear seat bottom shelf. Did you lay down the battery, 3.4 being the height or did you adjust something to the seat or chassis to get it fit?

My rear seats have been replaced with leather units from a 635. perhaps that gave a little bit of extra height?

I don’t recall any fitment problem with the anti-gravity batteries, just a charging problem where the alternator was not charging .

I had one on the passenger side and one on the driver side.one battery on the other side.

No problem, happy with your reply right now ;). That explains it all to me, but means that I have to figure out what the next thing would be to do fit some battery’s under the original e9 rear seats because I want to keep the original seats. Thx!
 
Yes, sure! This was exactly what I also wanted to make. But did not realize anymore that you used different seats.

With the normal seats I’m 2 centimeters too high with the pc925 batteries. So need to think how to solve this. I don’t want to cut in the shelf of the seats but also don’t prefer to cut the chassis to be honest.
