Perhaps I'm mis-reading/seeing, but I think it butts the center piece like yours does...its the same leather or vinyl color on the back "hat tray" as the center piece, but the seat inserts are cloth, and contrast...so it looks like it melds together. Or maybe it does :) My eyes and computer are probably older than yours.

Ruthless, your car looks great; happy birthday!

I have measured ET on my wheels today for my friend who will be building custom wheels for his e9.

In case anyone else might find this info helpful here are measurements:

front: 8J ET17 205/45/17 - 5mm clearance with this setup (I have camber plates)
rear 9J ET13 235/40/17 - no more fender clearance with this setup

I love your car , it is super clean and straight !!
I would love to put those type wheels on mine eventually .
Can I ask why do you have camber plates ?
are they for handling improvements or just needed to allow the wheels to fit ??
what type bbs’s are they ( ie have they standard lips / barrels, or are they custom barrels )

My interior rear deck doesn't merge into the center piece that seperates the back seat. Mine is a 72 2800cs. Is your rear deck custom or is it standard in your year. Looks really nice!

All is original and I belive same to all e9s. I just had shelf and center console and side bolsters re-done in same color new leather and it might look different.

Thank you.
I used camber plates to gain clerance to fender. My friend had similar setup on his E9 (he had RS198/RS212) and was rubbing on fenders in front. When he put camber plates that he made he solve problem so I installed them from start.

Must check for centers what RS are they but I built them with matching different lips/barrels.

For front I used 5.5J barrel (all bbs centers are 0.5J) and 2J lip. Specs are 8J ET17
For rear I used 6J barrel and 2.5J lip. Specs are 9J ET13.

Renew my MOT

20220601_130547.jpg

Took my e24 as well for the first Slovenian MOT. Like e9 I also imported e24 from Italy.

20220601_131855.jpg

Checked kilometers from MOT papers and realized I only made approx 1000 km per season from 2020.

20220601_145743.jpg

But anyway did the oil change and saw that brake fluid is low - filled it and checked for leaking. Found the leak in the input cylinder so will need to replace it. I found lots of aftermarket options anyone have experience with Brembo or TRW?

Fixed leaking input cylinder.

Bought this one: https://www.autodoc.si/brembo/1659185

Of course it didn't fit but I was expecting it won't just by the shape of it on photos. Since I had time on Friday evening I removed the leaking cylinder from e9 and hope the internals are the same as the cylinder I bought. They were so I swapped seals.

Also I bought clutch slave for 2002 and tried to install it on e9. Size in length is the same length but the diameter is not the same so I didn't try to fit it - but I will on next occasion maybe put in some custom made spacer

Also had opportunity to have all my 3 big coupes at one location at same time

Believe it or not yesterday was my first time driving an e9 in the rain. I never take it out in the rain or if the forecast is bad.

20220727_203043.jpg

Yesterday I decided to pick up my rebuilt 17" RS wheels in style and on the way there it started raining. I was only afraid there would be summer hail storm.

Thankfully after a short period of time the rain stopped and I enjoyed the ride back home.

I'm thinking about repainting my Alpinas and was considering putting my polished Style 5's on my coupe in the meantime. Are yours stock E39 Sport wheels? 8" wide in front?

@dang I have BBS RS but fronts are built to 8J ET17 and rear to 9J ET13, so BBS RC style 5's with 8J ET20 will fit with no problem. Just maybe not with 235/45 - better something not so wide for front wheels. I have 205/45 on 8J - 215/40 would be also good. For rear there is no problem with 235/45

Year is around and today it was time for MOT.

20230601_145504.jpg

Only made 700 km since MOT last year... I was sure it was more but weather was not really pleasant on weekends past season and I drove many cars to keep them in driving shape.

20230601_160129.jpg

Took e24 for MOT as well

Small update

Having problems with sparks. Used Denso iridium for a few years now. Replaced them with new ones this season but spark is bad and the engine stalls - especially when sitting for a while.

20231002_175000.jpg

I have replaced them with NGK BPR6EIX and will test them out for now they are ok. Also my turn signal switch was loose for a while so I had to inspect and tighten 2 bolts.

20231002_183656.jpg

Also did the coolant flush wanted to replace the water pump as well but decided to leave it for when the clutch fan will be replaced as well. + I replaced belts (1 belt since the steering ones I bought were too long).
