ok so now im on an official deadline the 17th its going to the tuner FINALLY
so im rechecking for the third time all the computer inputs
seems i had dual hot leads to one of the relays
i have to decide which way to go as the motronic harness already powers the relays
so may just leave it and have the box control the remaining
tps water oil
injectors etc.

this car continuous to amaze me
so setting the sunroof back in and the joints between the inset aluminum trim are so darn exact that when assembled correctly
there is absolutely zero gap where they join
verry nice.

SO REDOING THE INJECTOR WIRING AGAIN AS THE COMP WILL RUN TWO ON
ONE CIRCUIT -so i will wire two injectors to two of the outputs and the last two and single outputs,
just make it.
i will have all the details back together by the 16th to get it down to the tuner and
firing it up and breaking it in on the dyno.
It will be very interesting to see what it sounds like and
how it drives.
Also contacted ground control and they are going to send me 7" springs instead of the 8"
that are in now as it needed to go down a lot more to get level
its up about 1-1/2" now in the front and the rear springs were the 3.0 put in by boyd years ago.
and they sit very well in height respect.

You should be VERY careful about breaking in an engine on the dyno. What ecu are you using? Aftermarket standalone? Does your tuner have a base fuel and ignition map for the s38b36? I am friends with a couple tuners, and I've heard plenty of horror stories from rebuilt engines being pushed too hard and ruined on a dyno with the wrong map...

so giving up on the tuners in hayward
So I called fine line in santa rosa and hit the goldmine
thats all they do is links and are a distributor
so i can take it in anytime this next week so ill rent a truck and trailor and
finallly get to hear the engine fire.
they will set it on the dyno and break it in
thanks charo - there guys are very experienced in breaking in new engines as they
are the main shop for clients from the sonoma raceway.

I'm rather excited as its been so long just sitting.
although ive had a lot of work to do.
especially the sunroof issue. to make it work i had to trim the top layer of material from the frame where the slide occurs.
also i ground down the top slider as thin as possible .
them set the corner material all flat , as they were previously overlapping.
then i went to set it in and the clips wouldn't stay in,
so i took a tide plastic container and cut rectangle plates with a smaller clip opening and epoxied them to the
areas where the clip slot are.
now it works.
also i accidentally shorted out the power lines in the motronic harness .
so i ripped it all apart and removed all the excess wiring and burnt stuff.
so its a much cleaner system now, and i should be able to finish today
and reassemble the under driving wheel trim and ox sensor gauge.

Be careful about dropping stuff into the throttle bodies, that always scares me to death so mine are always plugged up with rags. Is that something in the rear most one?

Alan,
It sounds like you might be ready in time for Car Week and Legends of the Autobahn. Any chance that we'll see you and your Coupe?

looks like ill be able to take my first drive on the race track at sonoma
as thats where it will be initially started. and tuned
couldnt ask for anything better.

Happy birthday
so the tuner at sonoma raceway is actually configuring the links computer today
so I may be ill be driving it for the first time within the week
unbelievable

reply from the tuner

Next Monday I will return to work on your “Blue Max”, the name is has acquired here, if it suits you.
I expect I will have it running by October 6th.

I'm no forum veteran but I would let that nickname end at the shop.

Wasn't that the name of Murray Fowler's 2800 CS? I never new him, but read articles and came to know the story of the "highest mileage e9 coupe".
