I know of 7 1600GTs , Ski Coach has 3 of them and a very rare 1300GT Cabriolet. 1600GTs are neat yet I prefer the BMW 2002.

Good luck. Your confidence in a quick, favorable court resolution would be an extraordinary result. Hope it happens for you.

Alan, was there any paperwork, estimate form, any piece of documentation that you got from the shop when the cars was dropped off? Any signs on his wall about storage rates, etc? Once you bring this to court he will probably use every option available to him, including $50-75 a day storage. I see it every day from customers selling their cars because a shop is charging them storage. If you say work isn't being done or time wasn't documented he may say "pay for storage". Just a thought...

good thought!!!
yet there's nothing there to address that. looks around today
I've never received anything documented except the previous scope of work done i posted here a while ago
sad i asked and asked for what he was doing and the current cost ,he just never did it . its really weird - i think since he deals with pro racers
there isn't a ceiling on what he does he is very top notch and extremely meticulous.
just this time when i went a few days ago to ask for a final scope and cost----nothing
so when i was there today he said he go get started on it.
i feel rather safe as there's no docs period
quite illegal. it is very nice to heard from all of you its a great
feeling of support
thanks everybody.

--NEEDED TASKS i gues going there-- got him thinkin anyway

To test the IAT circuit, complete the AFR meter supply circuits,
install the oil pressure sensor, DONT THINK WANT TO PAY FOR THIS
ITS NOT A RACE CAR. SINCE WHEN DO NEED A PRESSURE METER
IF YOUR OUT OF OIL YOUR SCREWED ANYWAY
OIL LIGHTS ON --SHUT IT DOWN

including wiring, complete the idle speed control wiring and plumbing, calibrate the TPS, IAT, AFR, oil pressure and water temp scales,
make the cooling system operational, WHATS THIS? JUST ADD WATER-FREEZE
HELLO!
test the starting circuit and fuel pressure, - TURN IT OVER AND READ A GUAGE 120 BUCKS I GUESS MORE WASTE.
program the ECU and make base maps for the fuel and ignition control, start the engine, confirm the correct function of the critical systems, and revise the maps as necessary for initial idle, I estimate will require approximately 30 hours.
this is for nought anyway as hes not going to work on it anymore anyway
lest i know whats needed to be done.

I was fortunate (unfortunate) enough to go through a similar thing when I was just getting into cars and it taught me how to deal with shops differently from that point on. I was 19 and having custom headers made for a '64 MGB I had with a Ford 289ci V8. I wasn't near the cost you've had to deal with but it resulted in me pulling the car out of his shop unfinished and paying him just to go away. I was pissed off, but more at myself in the end. I've never had an issue with a shop since but have also learned how to do most of the work myself to avoid disappointment. I was disillusioned about "professionals" early on.
