Alan, I am back in town and willing to drive up and see where things are at.
Logan can help and he could join for a triage session in October. I am just curious to see a pro solve the no crank issue.
That is assuming you have not removed and sold the engine.

SO IT seems i have maybe found someone to buy the s38b35
hes out of town till next week yet he lives close by in walnut creek
that will be absolutey what i need to move along . there are a few
7 series in the junk yards a running one that i can get once the
monster is gone . then a simple process of taking the eng ecu and
harness to set up to finally get the thing on the road.as its a loser
without an engine, theres a ton of things to do even after i get an
engine. have to put in the rear window seal. reassemble the driver door
as i had to adjust it to look right, need to paint top of the fenders and
over the grilles. repair the sunroof as it doesnt want to close all the way
reinstall the instrument panel as i had redo both connections of the wiring harness
reinstall the glove box as dingbat logan took all apart for no reason
should have stopped him on that one. so posting will be in a fews weeks
to see if i can get that engine gone from my life
what a mistake that was that cost me 4 years of nonsense.
and wasted effort. ok .

Note that the e32 (735) passenger side motor mount doesn’t work with an e9. If you get the e32, you need to buy adapter bracket like this. The e34 (535) is a direct bolt in. On the plus side however, I think that e32’s were treated better, and likely plagued by electrical gremlins and not motor issues. Their values don’t hold as well as the e34, so you can buy the whole car on the cheap.

I still think you should buy the whole car, drive it for a little bit, then pull the motor. Remember if you aren’t keeping the donor, you can cut the car out from the motor. Just be sure you can dispose of the chassis. I know that is tough in CA.

thanks to a wonderful member here ive sourced a motor thats being put together.
a b34 with an 87 head from a 635. that will be just fine for the simplicity and power.
looks like it will be together just in time for spring and avail for the historics in august
as i mentioned i have a lot of minor things to repair.

Are you going carbureted or fuel injected?
