EXCELLENT THANK YOU VERY MUCH
IT SEEMS I CANT MOVE THE ROCKER ARM SHAFT ON THE HEAD TO ALIGN THE
HEAD BOLTS
IT DOENST WANT TO MOVE

Why are you screaming so?

long story, he is stuck in the seventies
several attempts to explain this CAPS thing has proven to be unsuccessful
we know him and we don’t give much notice of his behaviour, is like when you have a neighbor that sings in the shower
P.S. it begins,…since 2016

ok i apologize for the apparent rudeness
and will not post with caps anymore.
my computer is set for autocad production so thats
the reason its always set to caps
im turning tem off for good.
hope all will be happier

what is the purpose of the small bb ball bearing that goes inside the chain tensioner
does it just drop in there?

SO i aligned the camshaft so as the lobes were pointing down
and used a pair of ground down thin vice grips
and was able to turn the shafts to drop in the head bolts.
so on my way forward.
the block has been sitting around for around 8 yrs all the
block threads have minor rust and dirt.
so got all the correct taps and re threaded all the bolt holes.
the head threads were the worst and i had to redo them three or four times to
have the head bolts run in by hand.
going to need the engine add on parts as i chucked them a long time ago.
so browse - parts needed -if you can help out with replacing them.
more to go.

I’m sorry to say that after not hearing back from Alan and knowing that he wasn’t in the best of health, I decided to research and found that Alan passed away last month.

Many of us watched Alan’s restoration thread and have endured the saga along with the ups and downs. Alan frustrated many of and also made us laugh. Alan provided good entertainment, at his expense. Nonetheless he was an enthusiast and shared our passion for the e9. My thoughts are with his widow and family.

There are many layers of sadness to this. Seems like he lived a very interesting life. RIP

Edit: not to be ghoulish, but what is going to happen to his car? This thread? We can't let it die...

Damn, I saw this thread pop and was hoping Alan was going to be here to say he had the coupe running on a stock engine and was thrashing it through the back roads of the Martinez hills...
