'73 3.0CS - M88 Jerez Schwarz build

Been spending the last few weekends and nights after work on the drivers side. I'm a bit picky with shut lines and want minimal filler on the car so it's now getting done here and then will send it off for paint. The money I'm saving can be put towards the interior! It's needed a few tweaks to the doors and wing on the drivers side so far but really coming along nicely and even the worst areas needed no more than 1mm of filler so I'm very happy so far. Gapped with the seals on and the door lines up lovely!
Engine bay also got epoxied and seam sealed, still need to get the ceramic insulation onto the firewall. Currently going through a fair bit of 2k high build primer to get the body as flat as possible, filler is upol fantastic and for smaller repairs and pinholes I'm using 3m red acryl putty which is brilliant stuff.

Badges came in today. Chromed brass, made in Ukraine so took a bit of time to get here but definitely worth the wait. These are CNC machined then enamelled by hand. Quality of them is fantastic and are available in any size you need as well as styles, colour etc. The front is curved and they stick on. If anyone wants a set let me know I can put you in touch.

Amazing! Especially given the circumstances.

FYI @tferrer, @Keshav and other CSL spoiler experts. I see a roundel opportunity here.

@Markos …I’ve gotten cynical :)
im the perfect example of, don't do anything that’s not strictly orginal to a CSL, regardless of how good it might be and what the added costs amount to, few to none (buyers) will appreciate all the effort made.
Emblems too…..if @nosmonkey can have the the correct 2 piece trunk and hood emblems and the duck lip spoiler emblem made, he’ll be way ahead of the game!

I talked to the maker the other day. He can make anything but it wouldn't be an exact copy. His stuff is quite beautiful though. If you had a resto mod it's definitely an angle you could go down

Expect minimal progression as the car will look like this for a few more weeks yet, making a start on the passenger side this week, getting all gaps and lines adjusted is a tall order. @Marc-M learnt a lesson from your resto making sure that seals are in place before trying to gap and paint!

This side is coming on much much faster as it was done with a bit more knowledge and the door skin is new. A slow process pulling all the dents out with the pdr kit but it does mean a very light skim of filler around the welds and some high build primer is all that is required.

No, not sienna (I’ve owned a Sienna) but I do like the flake as Sienna can look a little dull (turd like) in anything but direct sunlight. It’s a great 70’s color for a coupe; I got more compliments with Sienna than for any other couple color that I owned.

After a quick polish up (I am by no means a painter) very very dark brown almost black, then flops to brown.

Colour is pyrite brown, a recent colour from BMW individual
