Lots of little things, plenty of flatting and sanding still. Fitted the mirrors using rivnuts, test fitting bumpers, light surrounds, grilles, spoilers etc. There's a reason good bodyshops charge what they do. Not much longer until paint happens! Even managed to find time and took the staaaaag out for a quick drive!

Note: organic csl hood prop is not for sale

This is getting boring now but moving onto much smaller things. Some fibreglass repair to the front spoiler and also bent it for a better fit as wasn't as I liked it to be. Body lines and the swage line are spot on now on the passenger side. Upol fantastic for the filling work and 3m acryl glazing putty for anything small such as pinholes or little nicks. Both products are fantastic.

Some work around the window frames tomorrow and a touch more flatting on the drivers side

Something other than sanding as I'm quickly becoming tired of it. Wet sanded the nose trim with 240,400,800,1200 then 2000. Quick buff with the rouge mop and some autosol and this is the result. Some maths worked it out at 50cm of trim per hour so it's not exactly the fastest process but a good result for the grand sum of nothing more than elbow grease and a bit of sandpaper and polish.

Picked up my BC racing coilovers and rebuilt front spindles. Will have my subframe and rear arms powder coated to match.

May end up getting different springs made up for road use, will see how these go first

With the welding all done I decided to see how much worse an e24 could be. Started gathering a few bits for this, manual series 2 cars are quite rare as only approx 400 of them were built. This 86 model is 1 of just 33 made that year and came specced with Recaros and LSD. Originally an ex demo car, the car was then sold to a company director who used it up until 2001 where it has remained parked since.

Another week or so of work. Perhaps going slightly over board with prep but in my eyes there's no such thing as being too careful especially with a dark coloured car. Will throw down a normal coat of filler primer on the front, roof and boot, then flat those down and a thinned down final coat over the whole car. I've switched to upol S2025 filler primer and it is much better to use, with the 3m dry guide coat it's helped speed things up a bit!

Hood torsion bar mounts drilled out and M6 nutserts installed. With the battery and relay trays relocated it grants me a bit more freedom in mounting the struts.

Well it's not Siena..... Picked up the paint today and also sent the interior off to Poland to be retrimmed.

Colour is Jerez Schwarz, a bmw colour (e9x m3) and one of my all time favourite blacks. Similar to carbon Black on my E46 m3 but a touch less blue and a tiny bit of purple in the right light. I've gone for a waterbased basecoat as it does give a

Stupidly forgot to weld the brake line brackets back on so doing those quickly this week, then shoot the car with primer and it's off for paint

Flatting all done, ready for paint, painter should be over tomorrow to give it a final glance. In other news stainless bumpers and over/under riders came. Rubbers aren't the best but quite impressed with the shaping and finishing. Hopefully the fit is as good.

Headlight brackets and lens holders blasted and painted, had some NOS lights sitting around so fitted those in too and polished up the trim rings. It's nice doing these little bits and bobs whilst the car is at paint

Started to bond the lenses back into the rechromed frames. Ended up cracking one of the lenses trying to get it to fit that last mm so time to cast another.
