VSR started putting the wiring harness back and reassembling the engine bay components. I'm really pleased with the daily updates of her reassembly process.

Awesome! Also, very kind of Mario to let us see the progress and how he works the dash. This will be a step by step guide for us when we need to do the same.

Engine is assembled and back in the car. All the aluminum has been clear coated, all cad plating is back, repainted the oil filter canister and added a new dipstick. I've added a before picture for comparison.

Visited VSR today. Athena was being tuned and dialed in with a 123 ignition and due to the D-Jet can only run one curve which matches the original distributor. So that was all installed when I arrived.

The mechanic was installing the electronically controlled heater bypass valve. It will be switched on and off with a factory yellow push button switch placed to the right of the rear defroster switch on the lower dash panel.

Andrew, extremely clean and tasteful! I am assuming it's still brutally cold up there so Mario has not taken the blankets off :) I can imagine how much fun you will have driving her from NH to ME. I drove through CT last weekend from Greenwich to Albany, the weather was warm and I was driving one of the most poorly designed cars built in the last 10 years (IMO), Chrysler 200 "S", your guess what the S stands for - I digress- anyhow, the roads and scenery in the northeast are second-to-none, but that's why you have to stay off them 4 months out of the year. :)

Very jealous of your maiden voyage!

Looks great

Andrew, my car was delivered there to VSR the other day from Florida. So I think yours getting finished means mine will get started! I can't wait for the work to begin.

I saw your car in the shop in early January when I was in NH looking at some schools with my son. The work done looks fantastic. Great to see all the other cars in there--the other street CSL, the CSL race car, 2002 on the rotisserie.

Almost Complete

Athena is almost done with her scope of work started November 9th 2015. She has finished being wet sanded. Her front door cards were able to be reinstalled completing her interior today. The 16" BBS RS 005s were also back from the wheel shop and look amazing.

Only small details remain, under hood stickers, exhaust tip and wheel center caps assembled. She should be home within 2 weeks.

David Rose, who shoots videos for Hitting Redline, BMW CCA and BMW NA, was there as well shooting video and taking pictures of Athena in the process. She and I will be featured in a Real Drivers video for Hitting Redline later this year.

Called VSR and they are almost done with the punch list details. They were working on the passenger side seatbelt as it's currently a driver side so the lap retracts instead of the shoulder.

Bumper went back on and they were sorting the fog lamps which stopped working last year. They weren't getting power after a visit to a local shop. I checked the inline fuses and they were good.

Rusty tail pipe has been media blasted and painted and new chrome tip installed.

She should be delivered home the first week of March pending the seatbelt.

News from VSR, the seatbelts have been resolved.
They are working on gas pedal, mine was broken at the top rod mound eyelet.
Waiting on bumper over-rider rubber from Germany then install bumper and hook up fogs. Fogs have been fixed, it was a burned in-line fuse. Though I checked them, they looked OK, must have been burned out at the base.
Once bumper is on, grills can go in, they'll wipe it down, clean it, and deliver her home!
