Carl told me it has a b35 with Miller maf. Carl put his heart and soul into it.

Wouldn't a B35 have "3.5" cast in it? E.g.:

Then again, the pictures are not reliable. Could be totally different block that went into the actual car.

I can only relate what Carl told me. My b35 has 3.5 on the block and pistons with a raised dome which this does not. Is it a 633CS motor with 177hp?

Edit: comment to BaT post added

The 3.5 pic you posted looks like a late M90. Flat pistons, small passages between the pistons, and no large horizontal water jacket.

No sure where this landed but the B32 is the motor that said 3.0 / 3.3 on the side...

Great driving video. I may not know that much about coupes, but some of the video commentary is off. Didn’t realize that zf made a five speed. If it’s a m30b35, won’t it be stamped 3.5 on the block? It looks great, but not sure the seller knows all that much (or not much more than me anyway). At the current price and five days to go, I think the gloves are off and nits should fly freely, as I Imagine the reserve is off...

ZF did make a five speed. This car has a Getrag 265/6 though.

The engine on the stand was just an example. Not the bat car. That's the 2nd Pic.

B35 head has that weird dizzy on it; no?

Either dizzy can be used, motronic or the classic dizzy. Just have to change the upper timing cover and add a drive gear and nut to the cam. That’s what I did on my m90 with a b35 head.

Not wanting to pick on this beautifully restored e9. It is just plain awesome (Shift surround not with standing) But I’m interested in opinions on if you were doing an e9 resto would you coat the lower rear valence with the wrinkle undercoating as the factory did? I know I would. Photos below are of the two e9s currently on BAT (I prefer the silver car) and an original 74 that was listed last month.

I texture the lower valance when painting but I also think the smooth surface looks pretty good. They did a good job with it.

The B35 has a boss up near the valve cover for a serial number sticker. The dizzy setup is just a motronic setup. I won’t be firing my motor
for several years but I plopped an old upper timing cover on mine also.

I know the 3.5 you posted wasn’t from the car, just saying that it isn’t a B35.

That tail panel has a load of filler. This looks like a classic fluff and dump and that back yard body shop looks like the classic place to make it happen...

Did you see the amount of filler the body guy was slapping onto the tail panel? I had Shutz sprayed on mine, I want it original.
I haven't looked at the photos. I do know that the best results I have when blocking a panel is to skim the entire surface before blocking. Most of it comes off so sometimes it's hard to know if there's excess or not.
