I just happened to come across this video. Intertesting to see all the different colours, some colours I had never seen before.

Is the Turkis a correct representation? (1:33)
I thought it was more greenish.
Isn't the one in the bmw Museum Turkis?

you say that, but worldwide there were 30,500+ e9 coupes made. the fact that there were 31 colors utilized across the range. some of the rarest colors are
001 nevada, 036 riviera, 044 pastelblau, 045 arktisblau, 055 athrazitgrau, 058 bristol, 066 florida, 079 mintgrun. the most popular are 060 polaris, fjord, chamonix, baikal, nachtblau, verona, followed by verona, malaga, taiga, golf, schwarz, inka + ceylon.

Yes! But I think there are a few colors I would have skipped, and others that are awesome and should have been used more. Alfa Romeo GTAs I hear came in just two colors. Jaguar E type close to 40 colors...

i can name a few that i would have skipped, but only a couple. for instance, i like agave but not a huge fan of amazon or jade. i think golf is unique and looks good, just not my cup of tea. i like sahara on the 2002 and Bavaria, not a huge fan on the coupe ... but if its well polished with sharp chrome accents it extremely nice. maybe they didn't need both nacht and atlantik or mintgrun + taiga. maybe didn't need colorado and inka ... but i would love to have any of those colors. when you think about the technology of paint you start to understand the change from granada to verona - better resistance to oxidation. but the change to granatrot later was brilliant. the thing to remember is that at any one time there were only about 20 colors in a given year. fewer in early years of the 2800cs

several colors were basic duplication of acrylic vs metallic - some were just very close
taiga / mint ... atlantik / nacht ... tundra / agave

some were slight color shifts
granada / verona ... tundra / agave / jade ... ceylon / siena (maybe) ...
