Hi as we are fully stripping car and doing engine rebuild want to check if this block looks right? Or from later car. Block has 3,5 on it. But assume still classed as M30?

The car it is coming out of is a few of the original true RHD E9 csi in UK not Karmann. Produced.

Help appreciated. Also should air filter box be grey? Need one. Thx

Don’t really understand, AFAIK ALL e9S were made by Karman in Osnabruk. Are you saying that is was converted to RHD in the UK?

Sorry Karmann but not converted to RHD, from LHD. These were produced as RHD in the first instance at factory.

However few people realise that the entire production run for the RHD version of the CSi was 207 in total, all made between 1973 and 1975. And due to the cost of restoration compared to the values of the CSi, particularly during the 1980s and ‘90s, many of the original 207 are no longer with us (estimated numbers from ‘The BMW Club UK’ are around the 120). This makes the 3.0 CSi one of the rarest BMWs in the world today.....this is also extract from munich Legends article....mines number 162 of 207 produced. Vins start 4350 on these csi models.

That's not my wording as I said it's an extract. Just the point around some did leave factory built as RHD.

The question is whether moving the steering wheel to the other side is considered a different model or variant of the car, while all other mechanicals are the same. Is an Italian delivery coupe with velour seats and two color side markers then a really rare E9?
Personally I lean to think RHD is a variant of a given model. Like me deciding to part my hair on the left or right side...

Depends where you live too I suppose. OP was more about engine versus RHD I'm happy with it.

Hi guys my coupe is also a RHD 3.0 csi but it’s vin number doesn’t seem to match with this post , mine starts with 2265 so I’m now a bit confused ???
Mine was manufactured in September 1973 and first registered in the uk in 1974.
