The crew at Colorworks finished the work on the chassis ( hood, trunk and doors still need work) and delivered the car to my shop . Now its going to a furry of activity putting this back together

Picked up the wheels from BBS and had the tires mounted . installed race studs on the hubs

Now that we got the car back form the paint and body its time to put the car together .Anthony Neu refurbished the headliner and got it installed . along with some other interior pieces . Very excited to see it coming together .

headliner looks wonderful, i like the black headliner on the inka car. install looks awesome. in looking at picture 3567, it doesn't look like the aluminum B pillar cover has the gaskets on it (along the edge of the panel) fitting to the inner edge of the fender. these are NLA from BMW, and i haven't found a piece from aftermarket suppliers. W+N has a remake which looks like the part.

removed the crusty rear suspension and refurbished it. replace the rear subframe bushings ( e28 , not a fun job) . Removed the control arms and completely disassembled them , replaced wheel bearings , parking brake shoes, etc. rebuilt the axles and reinstalled everything .

This build screams optimism and confidence. Small children and men of low character will flee at the sight & sound of it. Halfway across the country the pics make a crappy day better.

continuing progress in the assembly of the car. got the trans and drive shaft installed. Laid in the brake lines, brake booster and master, bleed system . Installed the coupe merged to S54 exhaust system . Finished installing front suspension. Now that we got the correct offset wheels , I was able to fit the tie rods with bump steer spacers , to correct any weird geometry issue's .

After trying several different style headlights decided that euro ellipsoid light from early 90's e30, late 80 e24's etc . Had to do some serious cutting and modifying to make them fit

worked on the trunk area a bit, trying to get the panels to work with the chassis harness and fuel system still need some tweeking butting getting closer to getting that part done. Got the strut tower/ batt box painted and installed . got the relocated fuel neck painted and bolted into place .

I wanted to retain the original "dimple key " therefore the ing lock had to be rebuilt, out came the steering column ( needed to be painted anyways ) which made it easier to repair and replace the ing lock components . Got a good start on installing the mil spec wireing harness , installed tine rear taillights and a few trim pieces

yes ... looking hot ... damn hot. i have looked at multiple pictures of this car but it wasn't until today that it dawned on me that this was a '74 coupe.

Wow, really coming on Brendan[emoji41] love the colour and that Inka really makes the subframe etc stand out[emoji106]now you’ll have to park in with mirrors underneath [emoji102]
