Hi,

Found a source for new carpets, cut to size with bound edges, in the UK for £219 (excludes boot/trunk carpet). Arrived today - took 10 days from the phone call. Coverdale UK in Wigan. www.coverdaleuk.com 01942 255535

.

hi
i am interested in thie carpets
i just checked the web site and they have not referenced the e9, but i assume that they did yours, so patterns must be available for it
can you share pics ?
what is your impression ?
which material choice ? sinthetic or wool ?

thanks

Hi deQuincey,

They have the pattern (their pattern number is A53) for BMW 3000 CSI 68 to 75 - though no made up car sets, but got it to me within a couple of weeks.

I went for the synthetic in black and looks exactly like the old carpet I took out. They can do it in wool too. It also comes with bound edges.

They did not recognise it under E9 or even coupe. If they have any issues my Invoice no was R30338

It is starting to come together, though headlining has shrunk and gone brittle. Found some white perforated vinyl headlining though, so now need to sharpen the scissors

Wiring harness in, though causing some major head scratching and burning a massive amount of time to get everything working.

I appear to be singlehandedly keeping the Euro afloat with the amount I am spending with walloth and Nesch on small items.

Sunglasses on!!!

Thanks Peter, but the journey would not have got this far without the great help I have had from the guys at Retro BMW.

Having got new sill covers from W&N, I could not decide on whether to paint them black or Inka.

Frustrated at my indecision, I bought some chrome wrap.

Very pleased with the result

Hi Darguelos,

Carpets are from Coverdale Carpets here in the UK www.coverdaleuk.com

They have the pattern (their pattern number is A53) for BMW 3000 CSI 68 to 75 - though no made up car sets, but got it to me within a couple of weeks.

They do it in synthetic or pure wool but you will need to tell them that your car has the steering wheel on the wrong side (ie Left hand drive )

Update

Hi everyone,

Time seems to be passing me by since my last post but took my E30 325i Sport out of hibernation and been enjoying that whilst the E9 has been gathering dust.

Then last week even though it was not up for sale, someone turned up with a bag of cash and it has gone to another enthusiast. so no excuses on the e9 now,

Engine bay now complete

The seats have been recovered in leather to match the recaro fronts but now need a proper clean

Unfortunately, it sprung a leak from the engine, which turned out to be a core plug.

As at today this has now been sorted and it is back on its wheels. Needs to settle now.

Almost ready to put the remaining panels back on and get the refurbed 14" Alpinas on. Almost...!!!

Anyone know where to source the clutch slave cylinder retaining collar? NLA from Jaymic and W&N or if there is another solution? Thanks

Nearing completion

The end is in sight .... (almost).

Boot/trunk lid is back on

so are doors

However, advice is needed.

With the new rubbers in place the doors will not close properly, but fit flush when they are taken off. What needs to be done to solve this aprt from trying to slam the doors and boot/trunk lid shut?

Thanks in advance
