Opinions request from members, particularly CSL owners

this is realy hard in a forum, all these pros and cons and all might be valid. I have 2 CSL, 3 CSi and 1 CS for many years now, far before a CSL raised its value. For me a life without CS / CSL is not thinkable. My 2 CSL are far away to be as of day one. The reason is, because they are still living and running cars, and they are as I like them to be. Even having my golden in Luigi style, many don't like it, that I changed it from origin, but CSL is Motorsport and still today. My CSLs are not for museum, they are still for pure joy. Running 250/230 in summer is quite normal, even going to Syndicat like this year. CSL are different cars, compared to CS/ CSi. Even I would say, the better car is CSi, but if I want to go for CSL, it is a different world. I would say, I am quite knowledgable about CS / CSL, but I highly appreciate getting all these details about CSL specifics, as I think everbody learns with each comment. So getting a CSL compendium at the end would be perfect. Many are working on such things, great job! So Keshev, I am fine with whatever happens and loving to learn more and more about the CSL very specifics as I am proud having BAT # 51 and rhd #222! See you at OGP forthcoming weekend!

Quite a collection Partik :). #51—-is that 4355051?
Great to hear that the passion is as strong as ever…..

hi Patrik, thank you for sharing information about all of your CS / CSi / CSL. first, i am glad to know these cars all still very much alive! i am curious about the original colors of each. you have chosen some of my favorite colors to finish them in and they all look very well done.

CSL 480 - i am assuming the original color was polaris, repainted in turkis
RHD CSL 222 - my records show that this car was converted to LHD and the original color was fjord - now ceylon
CSi 1671 - original color unknown to me, now verona
CSi 3092 - i presume it was originally fjord, what color is it going to be?
CSi 5226 - original color unknown to me, now granatrot?

Servus Patrik - what a collection, congratulations!

Oider, des hot mi grad aus de Latsch'n g'haut :)

I am living near Frankfurt now, not that far from you - any chance I can drop by one day to see your cars live?

Kind regards, Dan

right, 2275 480 was polaris, partial Städtepaket. It had a frontal crash once and got a spare part 3,2, which is still here, but 25 years ago I wanted to have it with M88-3, the closest to M49, it goes beyond 250
2285 222 I changed from rhd to lhd and it was fjord, I know, I should have asked some people in UK to change rhd to lhd, but ...It is my car, and my sons will keep it/them for ever if all goes well ...going wioth 3,5 l engine, running real 225 with the big tires, I am quite satisfied with
2261 671 was polaris
2265 226 was fjord
2263 092 was red, no idea yetm, still 1000h to go ...
4305 148 2,5 is the only in original colour as it lovely taiga

I raised in the 2,5 when all my passion started 45 years ago, I am now 58. I bought 2265 226 when I was 19 and stored it since then! I took over taiga in 96 from my father, when he bought 2261 671, which I finally took over 5 years ago. So long lasting tradition ...

have a nice evening, all for now. cheers Patrik

Sounds great, Patrik - I will reach out via PM when it happens that I come to your area; maybe it works out, would be great!
Enjoy your cars, it seems like you completely shaped them according to your taste and handle them the right way :) !
Cheers, Dan

Thanks rsporche for answering my S38 question... I missed Patrik's statement "25 years ago I wanted to have it with M88-3, the closest to M49, it goes beyond 250"

Again, pardon my ignorance about E9s and CSLs... I assume you mean 250km/h which would translate to 155mph... ?

Interesting the picture with the green / stripes. I bought a race car years ago in Bremen with this same design....
