Raised letter hood roundel

i got mine from wallys i can post a pic but its seems very close
the top is my oem 74 original
the new ones also are larger that the base and have to be files to fit
also the rear is curved base the front flat

My older ones are 000 958 08 114 and 18 11 992.4 I have a used front ring, and used curved rear ring it has a gasket under it. I think it goes to Lloyds car now that he has it back.

Hey Ron,

I picked up this badge (00095808103)from a guy down the street from me. It's NOS, at least 12 years old. The badge you reference is shown twice
in this thread, both in pictures - the last being from Alan mentioning that it's his original roundel.

I read online where someone had it on a '76 3.0si. Not a lot of info on it, with a few references on BMW2002faq.com.

I have a two piece raised letter rear in my parts bin. I'll check the number on that as well as my raised letter front also.

Anytime I feel like having a really strong headache, I dive back into this issue of the emblem part numbers. It really works for that purpose.

I’ve always been puzzled by the difference in parts numbers nomenclature on them. Traditionally most of the E9 parts number starts with 41 space or 51. But some like the infamous hood emblem have this strange nomenclature which starts with 000. Does anyone know the logic behind that?

Which leads to the next question. What is the difference between 00095808103 and 51 14 5081 747?
they both appear to be the raised letter with integrated bezel for the hood. The only thing I can think of is that the 103 number was the original number and the 747 is a more recent number that better matches current nomenclature.

Bo, that is the one piece hood Roundel, 103 is on the part and 747 is the official part number from BMW. And 00095808114 is on the two piece trunk Roundel.
 
So one is the number on the part and the other is the number of the bag. But they both refer to the same thing.
Interesting.
