the frua barn find

And the engine bay looks like e3 as well, the hood release latches are mounted on the engine side of the firewall, coupes are mounted in the fresh air plenum on rear of firewall.
Chris,
This is a very helpful distiguishing feature, which confirms the actual identification of the platform of all three cars:

350/2 lock behind firewall = E9

350/3 lock on front of firewall = E3

350/4 lock on front of firewall = E3

Meanwhile 350/4 has received some used E9 standard FPS wheels to get it rollable (the steel wheels had the wrong offset). We are still looking for the optional BMW FPS alloys as shown in post 15. Also the wrong funeral car trims have been removed. The broken windows (front, rear, sides) have to be sourced.

I am never going to get any work done today.....
This thread is addicting
I was thinking Alfa when I saw the turning lights, but my USA market 1750GTV does not have that setup.
Then I looked at this euro 1750GTV and confirmed for myself that is where they were found.

These Frua cars are so period 70s awesome!

In the meantime the restoration of 350/4 has also progressed with the following steps:
- car dismantled and all parts and their position documented (765 photos)
- Manufacturing of 1:1 patterns from 5 mm aluminium panels for the broken windows, which got damaged by vandalism during storage in Madrid (see photos).

The next steps will be:
- manufacturing of the windows from glass using the aluminium-patterns
- paint stripping and rust removal dipping of the body

Is that a transistor ignition box in the engine bay shot in the third photo of post 73, on the right inner fender?
I don't know, what it is.

It was not present at that location before the restoration (see my photo from february 2016 with non-original BMW 3.0 CSi-Motor).

I have a bunch of e12 stuff, complete head, ECU, distributor, ignition from the rustbucket I stripped for the 5-speed trans. Assuming it works, it is worth installing? I'm not particularly concerned about originality (it seems BMW isn't either).
