What did you do to your E3 today?

Finished prepping the engine compartment, front cowl and primed with 2 part epoxy. Cleaned soda from passenger compartment and started prepping trunk.
(more like what did you do for the last 4 days?)

Hey there,
Today I swapped my 'automatic' guage cluster for one from a manual car. Very easy and pretty quick; remove grill, remove speaker if you have one, remove large phillips head screw, the top of the gauge cluster comes out first. The main hurdle is loosening to the speedo cable 'nut'; loosening this helps you get to and detach the 2 cable plugs. I cleaned the cluster I purchased and check all bulbs; I used LED bulbs for the larger ones (#194) and changed the tiny whinny bulbs (couldn't find a LED for these). At least I won't get the question,'what are those letters for?' anymore ;)

All the best,
Bill

Video,

That looks great. I already did mine with new lights but not LEDs. it is of course still out of the car so maybe I’ll try those. Even ordered new little plastic colored pieces from WN as part of a larger order. Where did you get the LEDs?

Hi there!
Nice!!
I by LEDs from SuperBrightLED https://www.superbrightleds.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=194 . Crazy selection and good service.

What love to find an LED replcement for the tinny whinny bulb. Anyone have any leads!?

Cheers

Beautiful, I too like both those colors. still leaning toward agave, but those two are certainly contenders. Also nice to see cars that can actually drive.o_O

First time on this thread, I think. Purchased my 72 Agave Bavaria from Steve Petersen of Blunttech in May of this year. Excellent condition, 10 year old glass out restoration and paint. All stock except the B35 motor and its matching automatic transmission. Long story.

Excellent interior and trunk with the same rear piece Dick Steinkamp has in the photo above, also from Alprada. esty cut the trunk carpet, add the caddy at the same time. Some plans: have the chrome door sills, Becker europa, have new door felt, have the parts to keep the hood open. Thinking about driving lights, a PO already drilled the holes, wiring may still be there. Starting to look for the tools to finish the tool tray. Really can't think of anything else right now. But we know that won't last.

That was taken in front of my long departed, beloved mechanic's shop. Where he worked his magic.

reminds me how beautiful vintage BMW are in Agave ... don't think i have ever seen an e3 in Agave ... hope to see one in person. for now, all i can say is WOW

yes, yours looks a little lighter / brighter. i guess it depends on who's paint recipe you both are using and who's is closer to the original. years (decades) ago i almost bought a '71 dk green 2800 Bavaria. don't think it was agave but i'm not sure i remember another dk green.
