What a pity... I have all but I would need to play Flinston with no brakes as another feature. :D

That depends on the cleaner additional you use.
Don't use bicarb.
I use a aluminum friendly cleaner and neutralize after use.

well, i use ultrasonic on the yellow bits and also in those elements that have nothing attached,
i would not use on carbs because it moves the blocking bits (example in red arrows) that may become loose and because of residues

i might be too old school, but i only use a mixture 50% petrol 50% diesel

Clutch nylon bushings replaced. The restoration shop inserted the bushings on the pivot of the clutch pedal where one of them got deformed. I could feel the pedal had a slight creaking when shifting at slow speeds. The 2 bushings were about $4 at the dealer. A touch of lubricant on the bushings and now smooth clutch engagement.

Got a nice order from Walloths today. Gathering everything needed to put back together after painting. Decided to replace drivers side window when it was out. This order much more exciting than my last "all rubber" order.

I put a new set of tires on my CSL , it was bittersweet in that I discarded the new set of 225/60 /14 that were on the car , they had never been on the road other than the trip from the mechanics to home , the tires were 23 years old and as hard as rocks. My new set are 205/70/14, on the plus side the trunk floor now sits as it should with the smaller tire. The car was last on the road in 1986, I purchased the car 6 years ago as a bare shell, the next step are a few short trips , any hopefully no issues.

Crimping on the door skin today.

Removed tool storage tray yesterday to repair a broken hinge. Decided it was finally time to replace the old foam.

New foam was purchased from coupe king about 3 years ago. High time I did it.
Old stuff came off easy:

I‘m one of those guys who keeps the tools in a tool roll. Only a few extra essentials are in the tool box.
Hinge still came apart. All re-enforced with JBWeld. (The 24 hr cure time stuff)

Installed:

good work on the box - i have an extra piece of the rubber holder if you ever want to replace that part without buying a new box.
next time you pull the tool tray out, pop the vinyl panels off the trunk lid and tighten the vinyl up on the panels + re-glue. it makes a tremendous visual improvement since its at eye level.

Fixed my non working drivers side door lock and cleaned it up. Had to Jerry-Rig a new cover, but it works great
