Same here, feels much better driving around town with the third brake light installed, great safety upgrade.

Can you post a picture of what it looks like fitted. I am tempted by this with the decreasing skills of UK drivers and congested roads.

I would love to see other examples too if anyone else has fitted one of these.

Will do. I'll have the car out tomorrow and will post.

Finally finished my little rolling recomissioning!! New carpet, overhauled dash, new wiring to new helpful day to day gadgets. A quick wash then a thrash round the village in the wet to test the LSD and dogleg box. But it's now given me a difficult decision on what do i use on a weekend..........

mr bump,

Decisions, Decisions, Decisions, Decisions!!!

Four good options. I wonder how many of us have to make an e9 or an e31 decision. Pretty sure belgiumbarry is also faced with this dilemma.

Cheers, and hope this weekend is a good one for Decisions!!

That colour on both the 31 & 9 is stunning! Never seen an 8 series in that colour, looks sublime Gary.

drove from socal to the central coast for the weekend. a leisurely 150 miles each way. a rather warm morning and a/c is running good. will probably get 18 mpg combined hwy and surface streets. it just turned over 310,000 miles.

I used to make LED strip "Stealth 3rd Brake Lights." ]

Very glad to see these options & respected owners here think it’s OK & doesn’t diminish cars. I was praying to Liddy Dole behind a wreck recently & wondering whether it could/should be done.

So... how do you like thrashing the dogleg gearbox? Is it more trouble than it’s worth?

It’s a great high revving box that makes the engine come alive! Both the box and LSD are from a pre 79 6
Series, so can take some stick.
The dogleg pattern is perfect for enthusiastic driving, once you’ve mastered the layout you won’t use anything else imo.
