Same here, feels much better driving around town with the third brake light installed, great safety upgrade.

I like the flasher aspect that TG posted. Flashing light gets attention faster than solid 'on' when you apply the brakes.

Finally finished my little rolling recomissioning!! New carpet, overhauled dash, new wiring to new helpful day to day gadgets. A quick wash then a thrash round the village in the wet to test the LSD and dogleg box. But it's now given me a difficult decision on what do i use on a weekend.......... 20190124_151545.jpg 20180721_102012.jpg

    mr bump,

    Decisions, Decisions, Decisions, Decisions!!!

Four good options. I wonder how many of us have to make an e9 or an e31 decision. Pretty sure belgiumbarry is also faced with this dilemma.

Cheers, and hope this weekend is a good one for Decisions!!

    Gary-

That colour on both the 31 & 9 is stunning! Never seen an 8 series in that colour, looks sublime Gary.

So... how do you like thrashing the dogleg gearbox? Is it more trouble than it’s worth?

Here are a couple of shots of my 3rd brake light. I found the model I bought. Ignore the one two-star review - it's a complaint about the gauge of the wires (LED draws very little power). I'm not all that jazzed about how the wires come out of the side, but for $7.00 - it is very effective.

My 3rd light from Andrew, I mounted it up into the headliner recess so it is completely hidden until it comes on, hid all the wires and hard wired it into the brake circuitry.

Very glad to see these options & respected owners here think it’s OK & doesn’t diminish cars. I was praying to Liddy Dole behind a wreck recently & wondering whether it could/should be done.

It’s a great high revving box that makes the engine come alive! Both the box and LSD are from a pre 79 6
Series, so can take some stick.
The dogleg pattern is perfect for enthusiastic driving, once you’ve mastered the layout you won’t use anything else imo.

    Ed, the car looks great.

I dont know about you but when I did my belt line trim it literally took me ALL day. That small looking task is more work than it looks...

Damn. I’m not much of a religious person but does praying to a pineapple plantation heiress help in case of a car wreck? Maybe I should try that next time.
