alan here how did you power the s38
mine is 11:1 compression and i dont know wht to power it with.
i tried a link ecu-- no one knows how to set it up
unless i pay 20k to santa rosa sgop so i have to sell it
big bummer
your car is super fine graet job!!!
Thanks for the kind comments.

The car has a M88 /European engine from an M635 car.

The conversion was done with a Megasquirt injection system. An E30 wiring harness was used to signal the engine.

We are still tuning the engine for performance.Unfortunately I don’t know how to do the tuning and it is only, say, 80% correct.

Alan, without sounding harsh, Patton has invested heavily in tuning this motor. He's given the right people the freedom (and $) to chase the tuning where it takes them and had multiple tuning sessions. Again, not to sound overly negative but you've have NOT gone this route and spent years lamenting the status of your motor. These custom builds cost money and you must be prepared to see it through if you want to come out the other side with a fully baked car...

My 1972 green Gosser Beer Alpina CSL tribute car was built 15 years ago with a M88/3 engine from a European 635.
The German builder used an old school ECU but the car had individual coils and throttle bodies and high compression.
My son installed a LIFE Racing ECU and associated electronics supplied by Franz Diebold in VA who is one of the top
M88 engine turners in the country. My son built a custom engine wire harness and fuel injection system which is detailed
in this E9 forum site. He would be pleased to offer advice if desired.

Thank you, Sandy.

I appreciate all the help from the forum members. It is a great support group.

I think mine simply needs the final tuning, which I should have lined up shortly with a dynamometer friend here in Atlanta.

I will keep everybody informed once the final tuning is done.

In the meantime, let me search for some more photographs to post.

Again, thanks to everyone for the support and help.

Dyno run is complete.
The 38 year old M88 engine put down just shy of 250hp and didn’t miss a beat.
I’m so relieved. Tuning will work great for driving the car on and off of the trailer to go to events.

I have a short 29-second video to share. I’ll have to get a 12-year old to post it for me.

Ohmess, younger guy, Brandon, that has a shop in the Cumming Ga area.

No invoice to go by, just a cash transaction kinda deal.
