1974 3.0 CS With M88 Engine (3.5 CSM)

Replica Talbot mirror (Pagasus parts about $50) is attached to the chrome trim on the top of the door.

Did not want any holes in the door, so the original mirror holes were “Foose” welded.

Thanks, Mark.

Slick sides, no key locks, US lights, antenna, emblem holes, trim bolt holes. All total, 75 pesky welds/fill.
Trim is held on with 3M tape and thus far it hasn’t lifted.

Drove the car until the battery lost power. New brushes on the alternator were likely needed. I left the alternator on the car. I tried to install new brushes. Unsuccessful, I broke one of the brushes.

One step forward, two steps back.

Fancy detail cloth was too restrictive and caused several of the screens to collapse.
Engine was not under load, just high idle.

Removed cloth and reshaped the screens.

One step forward and two steps back.

Next up, fabricate a cost-effective strut bar.

The one lying in place is a sample from an E30.

Mock-up plate. The final part will be made of thicker aluminum or stainless and welded to a crossbar to a plate on the other side.

If desired, I drew up shock tower plates in CAD. Already had a pair cut out of steel for my battery box braces. Happy to share the file if it helps. Or, here are the dimensions:
