Gorgeous seats! I predict you will love that color combination.
A contributing source of the water that leads to the rust you see is the vent tubes from those c pillar roundels. I re-routed mine during restoration.

Yeah, I am already loving it. Erik sends me photo updates and questions every few days. Seeing the workmanship at CoupeKing, I am very pleased I went with them. Knowlegable, easy to work with, and I get a fun road trip to drop off and pick up my stuff!
I think you and I will be two of the unicorns with Fjord over white cars.

My seats were redone about 13 years ago but not to a very high standard. When everything else is finished on the car I will probably upgrade the leather and do the door cards in white leather as well. So, I'm taking notes on your project......maybe can see her in person some day.
I redid the interior on my 635 about 20 years ago using a "kit". It was a ton of work, and in the end, never really nice. Upholstery is really an art..
I am working on buying some old manual Recarros for that car, and I'll send them off to Coupe King together with all the rest of the bits to redo that after the coupe is generally done.
Down to the short strokes on the car disassembly. Took out the upper seat belts and the little headliner tabs that hold them. I will not be using these since I have the retractable ones for re-assembly. If anyone wants a set of these they are in fairly good shape. I drilled out the rivets and they popped off. Also pulled out the riveted clips that hold the A-pillar trim to the windshield seal ridge. I may re-use those, but we'll see.
So while the body shell is being done I'll be restoring the harness, the heater, and a zillion small bits.

Confirmed the car will be picked up Friday for body and paint. Very excited to get to this step!!
Received the trunk trim pieces from Christoph. Beautiful. Alprada is sending the floor pieces since those were too large and heavy for Christoph to ship.. so the trunk will be a bit of a hybrid. Hope the materials match!! With this, I have a new toolbox, and all new trunk trim and floors. Just need tools! (yeah, I know that's step 695, and we are on step 25...
).
Interior is almost done too (doing door cards this week), so the long pole will be body and paint... Hope to have this car on the road maybe by fall, or certainly next spring. This will be the fastest car restoration I have ever done..

Sounds awesome and we are pulling for you! Aim for fall! Regarding the trunk pieces, as I'm sure you've seen, the two color options are the SEM Storm Grey or Warm Grey. I went with Warm Grey which just seemed a bit more consistent with the color scheme. Hopefully yours will all match and no painting will be needed.
@ScottAndrews , when you reach step 695, let me know when you need an 99% complete tool set.
Yeah, been eyeing @Bert Poliakoff 's set on eBay.. Nice but rather pricey, and, as noted, that's step 695...I'll definitely let you know when I get there..

For your future reference, I used this company for the leather. Had it drop shipped to Coupe King. Used the Euro Smooth Quartz, but they have many different shades of white and different textures. Sent them six hides.
Coupe King had the perforations done for the seats, and embossing for the door cards.

And yes, planning someday to wander down to California....
For leather, you buy it by the hide.
I ordered SIX hides. Erik suggested going heavier since the Scheel seats are fairly tall and have a lot of sections. The hides are not all that expensive compared to all the labor, and better to have extra than not enough...
Hides vary in sq feet and there are areas that are not usable, my coupe used four hides.
very true Chris, hides average 50 to 55 sf for normal cow hides. nappa leather is calf hides and they are much smaller, 25 sf. the legs are not very usable. there are a few other things you need to be concerned about and that is the number / position of blemishes in the hides. you don't want a blemish in the middle of your seat or door panel.
Got the rear brake lines and proportioning valve out, and removed a few errant old exhaust hangers, etc. from the under side. The underside of this car is remarkably clean, no stripes or spatters of grease from the diff or the CV joints. Maybe a bit of grease around the trans area, but that's it..
Took a run at painting the headliner. So far it is a bit saggy from having the sides loose, and paint applied, but the color is definitely better! We'll see how it looks after the body shop.

And all buttoned up for the big trip tomorrow... with a pile of extra body repair bits, and the euro E24 style spoiler (bought about 20 years ago!!)
