73 POLARIS E3 BUILD...Slowly..

Since your E3 is completely dismantled, and is an empty chassis on a caster-based rotisserie.... I wondered if you could photograph the chassis exterior from all sides? And possibly include additional photographs of the stripped out interior?

Those photos would be really useful for other E3 owners contemplating a complete teardown and rebuild...
Absolutely! I’ll start compiling pics over this next week and try to document the whole car.

I got the reflector holes all welded up and glazed. Then I went a little crazy and welded up the exhaust exit under the valence. I just don’t like the sharp turns it takes at the end and it feels more accurate to have it exit a straight shot out the rear..:-). Ran out of sanding discs to dress the welds..funny, I wouldn’t have thought there would be filler on that panel. I’m guessing a PO backed into something down low at some point?
I’ll have to buy a muffler to decide exactly where to cut a new opening. Any recs for a nice round muffler that’ll sound tastier than stock? I’ll be making a new system anyway, so no worries on fitting to the old stuff.

So I think this is where I’ll exit the exhaust. I grabbed a dynomax SS muffler to locate where I’ll cut a small half circle in the lower valence. I need to get this cut and cleaned up before I spray the epoxy primer..a little warm weather would be nice, too.. I think having it come out straight will look much better..:-). Thoughts?

Working on the rear diff reinforcement with thin metal to get the sizing correct. Paul sent some pics and measurements to help me get started in the right direction. Super helpful! I think I have the basic shape fitting well. Now to make it out of 16ga, I guess? and finish the leftover bends and plug weld holes I didn’t do in the template….and make the backing plate from the online pics..

Need to allow for the fuel line..just a little bend of that tab should do it…is the rear end similar to the e9 area?
I love that I scraped off some dirt with a plastic razor blade and the original paint/coating is still there and clean!

Finally did another color test. Here's Riviera and Biscaya Blau in sun and shade. I like Riviera in the sun, but not the shade. I may be leaning towards Biscaya..

i actually like both ... in some ways i think the Biscaya may be a little more dramatic. it may be a little bit of the lack of visible sheen on the Riviera (in the picture)

Good point. I feel like, between these two, I'd have to go with Biscaya. It's a touch light in direct sunlight, but Riviera is just sooo dark in shade and I definitely don't like that. Don't think I could live with shade tone of Riviera. Biscaya is just more...something...dramatic is a good description. Maybe just go for orange...LOL

Yeah, that is beautiful. It’s like a deeper fjord. My biggest issue is that I don’t have the space to properly shoot a metallic, so I’m keeping it to solid/mon metallic, single stage paints.
