Hey folks ... been a while so I thought I'd check in on progress.
  • Got my coupeking exhaust on ... headers to the back. Looks/Sounds great.
  • Carpet kit installed
  • Most of dash and interior door cards/wood etc is at coupeking right now getting refurb'd
  • coupeking alloys on some new BFG tires
  • Dyed old seats black because the blue was so bad ... I intend to get matching original dark blue seats in the future.
  • Spent a ton of time on the polisher cleaning up all the trim and just starting to install it ... its a real boring fiddly job

Are you running D-Jet or L-Jet or Other? I see the D-Jet intake horns but it could be anything. If a D-Jet, is there any issue with the headers for tuning? What were your thoughts for choosing the headers?

Running L-Jet right now. Might move to megasquirt later to get more out of the set up. I havent really run it much since I have no windshield and the instruments are all dangling on the nonexistent dash!

On headers I just chatted up with Erik at coupeking and we sort of landed on headers instead of manifolds. They just got a new batch in from fab and they are really nice. The whole system sounds great.

Hey all. Been a while since I put up some pics. Just tedious work over a long period of time. Got the glass in today. So nice to have a windshield again.

Just have some fit and finish issues left. On the home stretch.

No bumpers anywhere. It was always a tuner so tuner look. Taking the risk w no bumpers but I like how it looks.

Neither front nor rear! I had missed that. This man likes to live dangerously! I love it.

Can you post some pics of the rear, now that it is all assembled?

That is a very clean look! I love it. And someone has finally found a justification for the US license plate lights...

living on the WILD SIDE
i like it a lot , hell if you hit
its usually toast anyway.
and rarely do you get hit right on the bumper.
i sure like the hartge stuff
interesting how you reversed the plate mount
how are you going to cover the (E) mount holes?
two little roundels?
two dead stickers
steal your face.

Such a huge improvement! When the car arrived a few years ago I called it the smurfmobile. 6 or 7 shades of blue- hard to look at it.
Still running upper and lower ljet? Got engine bay pics?
Very nice esthetics! Congrats- super work.

Thanks guys.

Aearch, good points. Think I should put the hartge stripes back on? I have sticker sets in matte grey and matte black. Can always pull them if they suck.

Sfdon, when we talked about this car you were dead on. It was a solid body but many owners with many shades of blue. So funny. The engine work you did is same as it was day 1. Still need to do the rear end work. I polished the tube upper and cleared it w high temp gloss. Cleaned up the look a bit. All new fasteners etc. Means a lot to me that you like the work!!!

Here are some older engine bay pics. Will post more soon.

Also a couple before/after comparisons.
