After months of inactivity (and me going nuts at the body shop) we are making progress again.

first we fixed the brutalized door frames

this is their raw form, there will be a lot more shaping.
 
Found some new surprises while cleaning the aluminium hood and boot lid.
like holes for locking pins and cracks at stress points
all will be fixed.
I am not sure if I will keep the locking pins

I am guessing these are the holes for the wing.

someone at some point replaced the aluminium skin of the boot lid with a steel one and left the inner piece aluminium. that was too much weight for the inner piece.

Hi, the links work for me.

Cool to see that you're keeping the side grilles and fuel filler door. Its quite an effort to get all that fitting nice and looking nice, but you certainly seem to get it right.

If the Karman number is 8789 it suggests the car was built in September / October 1972 which would fit with early 2275*** LHD CSL`s. Do you have a photo of the chassis stamping in the heater bulkhead ?
Many years ago I bought a car with similar history and many Alpina parts including a 300 KPH speedo....
 
Clicking back and tracing the flick'r foto's i found this chassis plate: indeed 2275048, Motag 7227

Why all the heavy flare work? There was/is correct glass grp 2 flares that would be so much less weight, easier and more accurate to in-period race cars (if that's the goal). Does anyone have any idea when this was done?
