What did you do to your E9 today?

i would say plywood is too much rigid, not the best material, as said, be careful with thickness
I had leftover plywood from making a new hat tray, experimenting with the door card for free.
Thanks to mr Porsche I'll sand a beveled edge to slide under the upper cards just in case.
If it fits and looks ok I'll seal it up.
I'll keep pics coming if it works.
Thanks all!

you will have problems also with the map bags in the bottom area, it is advisable to sand some milimetres around the 5 fixing points too

maybe you will find this useful....been there done that...

Drove her the 23 miles home after her 6-weeks spa treatment at La Jolla Independent. Back in my garage now, many small improvements on the to-do list, maybe up to San Clemente for C&C tomorrow AM.

Blue plates, new lug nuts and center cap stickers. Pulled off the front grilles to clean them well, service the fasteners and replace the nose badge.

C&C San Clemente was great, a 68 mile round trip, car runs and drives really well, the B30 engine is so smooth, a revelation for this 4-cyl Fiat and Alfa guy. There were no other E9’s and only one E10, there were two E24’s. Lots of modern BMWs mostly 3-series.

Saw the only 3.0 CS at the Amelia Island Concours Saturday Cars & Coffee. Overheard the owner say it was a ‘74, looked more like a ‘72-‘73 to me.

Dirk has his 507, 328 & Z1 at the BMW Classic tent and display.

About half as many BMWs as last year. Glad to be able to attend again this year.

I called them a couple of months ago and offered to bring my coupe and/or 02 along with my neighbor who would bring his two mid 80s Alpinas - at least get some diversity in the BMW area. Got a firm No because they were filled up.

Can’t make it today. Sorry I missed you, Andrew!

Yes when I did the Amelia C&C's I believe the application process begins in September
