What did you do to your E9 today?

You are missing the piece that joins these together.
Is there an outside clippee thing? Looking at others' pictures, I think not ?

The front wrap-around has the little slider/horizontal peg that goes into the side trim.

The wrap-around and the peg are likely pulling the side trim out.

Tweaking/ bending is on the horizon.

That one picture may have summed up the questions that many of us have had about why the the engineers/designers at bmw decided to stop the trim at the rear quarter...and why the trim doesn't continue across the trunk lid...

Yep, another one is this corner: the rear bumper under riders. Those are also like some just mixed up left and right somewhere in the design process.

How could you design it so that the lines do not run parallel to the bumper (at the top) and the tailpanel edge (bottom)?

Here they are after welding in a new tailpanel. I shaved the underrider at some edges so that the gaps are now nicely parallel. I now have the option to install them without the pesky rubbers that only act to collect dirt. I can also just fit the rubbers in for that original look.
I wanted to have them rechromed anyway.

(And no, they are not swapped left/right. They are always skewed like that)

Finished the install of my refurbished Becker Grand Prix. Decided to run new speaker wires since I also installed the Becker fader control. Hidden behind the fuse box door. The green light behind the face plate grill is the Bluetooth adapter. Works beautifully.
BTW the original parcel shelf and front speakers still sound great.

Redid the trim that goes across the front of the hood.

Always time to do the job twice, right?
3M tape developed a gap. Used fishing line to saw it off, magic eraser to remove 3M tape.
Spent more time bending/tweaking the trim for a close, close fit.

Re-stuck the trim.

Big fun.

I’d like to say that mirror is an original Talbot.

It isn’t.

Did not want to drill into the door ( those holes were already welded up), so got creative and put it on the chrome trim.
