My Coupe joined the yellow washer club last Saturday. Almost all of the resto cars on BaT have the yellow washers, and I needed to add a couple of Euros to my W&N order to get their discount.

The W&N order was for the center tie rod (AKA drag link),flex disc( AKA Guibo), and center support bearing. The left vertical part of the tie rod was loose and caused a clunking feel and sound when the steering wheel was turned to the right at driveway speed. I was ready to use a pickle fork to separate the center from the end links. Then I found out that method would probably damage the rubber covers on the end links. But my mechanic,David Masi, said he has the BMW tools to do the job w/o end link damage. The pics show the puller-type tools. They worked! Steering links completed w/o use of the forks.

Dash trim replacement--My USA car has all of the knobs labeled in English words like "Lights" on the aluminum dash trim to the left of the steering wheel. I had already replaced the knobs on the center A/C console with the symbols that tell you "fan" and "cooler", and the light button symbol.
I guess the Germans knew their words for Light, fan, cooler, etc. were all about 27 letters long and wouldn't fit on the knobs anyway.....
Thanks to Tom and Tim, I was able to replace the dash trim with the blank euro piece.

I need to join this club. Have a W&N order in the cart, can you let me know the part number?

Hey, a club I can be in too!!

No Lance--You are the founding member of the yellow washer/blue anti-swaybar club.... My 1.25" Suspension Techniques bar is just the common black,so I can't join you.But we both can root for the "Eggles" while eating a real cheesesteak not from Pat's or Gino's. I grew up near Chester (Folcroft) and went to Drexel....

Too funny.....
I have actually thought about taking a bit of black spray paint to the washers on my car as I find the look of them distracting... When viewing the car from the front (and from a low angle).
But have not gotten around to that yet (and may never) - LOL
