Thanks, everyone.
We pulled the plastic stretch wrap off yesterday. It’s a good motivator to see that shiny paint and chrome.

...one piece at a time

Installed my car cover from NASA. It’s a bit intense. Fitment is “okay”. Made by cover king.

Hmmmm. Based on that pic, “okay” seem generous.
Is that one of those that is supposedly custom made?

It will fit better but I didn’t open the garage door and fit the front properly. With that said I’m sure the result will still be “okay” and not “good”.

Edit: Nope - that is about as good as it gets

The paintwork or the brightwork? What benefit does the ceramic coating give? Certainly a nice finish.

I have used Opti-Coat ceramic coatings on two of my BMWs the 2007 X3 and the 1988 M5. The coating is a two part cross link polymer clear coat, it does add more sheen and eliminates the need to wax or polish brightwork. The company has specific cleaning products to maintain the water and dirt shedding properties.

Hi Rek, as it was said, it gives the paint a deep shine, and prevents small scratches. First time I do this, we will see how it holds.

What technique did you use for the rolling? Baseball bat, the 'fender roller' such as sold by Eastwood, etc.??
Thanks,

Gary

Gary -- I used one of the Eastwood fender rollers to do mine. I can bring it to Sharkfest if you want to use it.
