'89 M635CSi and an MX-5 mark 1.

I wouldn't have bought an MX-5 but I won this one in a raffle. So enter those car raffles, someone does go home with a car and it could be you.

Back in August 2010 I posted that I had driven a DB7, but felt it wasn't suitable for a daily driver. Well, the following month I changed my mind & bought a 2011 DB7 Vantage for my...daily driver. With mixed feelings, I just sold my 1997 840ci.

i put a smile on my face every day driving a 2006 porsche cayman s. great balance, extremely fast, fantastic handling. has everything i loved about my e30 m3 - just 200 lbs. heavier and an extra 100 hp with a side of torque. gets different kind of looks than the coupe. but i love the coupe.

2001 CLK 55 AMG daily driver today. First car I have had with too much power, LOL. Dead solid reliability in 130K miles. Solid handling and still looks new.
Also enjoyed a 1989 325ix for fifteen years. Loved the handing and size. My first BMW was 1985 528e which was a great family car. Drove a VW Jetta when I was paying off student loans. Potential daily driver replacements are SLK (new model), SL 55 or 911 for me. love those German machines.

I wanted something sedate with NOT too much power... That is why I drive an SL65 AMG

I was wanting to be more Green and get a sedate car with NOT too much power....

So I bought a car that gets 25 miles per gallon while cruising down the Hi-Way is a convertible and is very comfortable.

There is one very small problem though.

The problem is that if I have even a very slight twitch in my right foot I find that the rear end of the car will start fishtailing like on ice while the 11.5 inch rear tires fight ferociously for traction. Then once the tires do hook up I am INSTANTLY rocketed and pulling almost a full G during mind-blowing acceleration. It is at this point that my eyes are wide open like saucers and the trees start going past so quickly that they all blur into a constant shade of Green:shock:. See I am more Green!

Oh at that point with both Turbos Spooled up and each pushing 22LBS of Boost I think I might be getting something like 25 yards per gallon...

AMG- Hand built 6 Liter, Twin Turbo V-12 with only 650HP and just 750LBS of Torque at 1,800 RPM... I am sure glad I do NOT have a car with Too Much Power.

Going to get my 1999 10ae Miata out of storage in a week or so. This makes my parking situation rather silly since I live in an Urban area. I will be driving that car in anger, as that is what it does best. I have been thinking of selling most of the other cars I don't drive. 98 M3, Corvair 500 and 72 2002'. The plane in my Sig is almost all packed up in boxes. The E9 is way behind schedule (Not that I really have one). I'd trade it all (Except the E9) for Scotts Cayman S. I'd love to try that.

Hm,,, well let's see. Besides the '73 CS...

There were about 13-14 2002s including '72 and '74 tii's (latter owned twice, now crashed and parted by last owner, not me). A '69 2500, wife's '73 Bavaria, one euro 635 CSi, two (three?) E12 528i's that were only parts cars, a 2800 CS with terminal rust, '83 533i, '87 735i now just sitting with issues...

But the DD is an '85 K100RS. The coupe is going to need paint and a spot or two of rust repair in the near future. Keep the day job.

Just added a 1988 Chrysler Conquest (rebadged Mitsubishi Starion) to my collection. This was one of my dream cars in High School. 5-speed manual, intercooled turbo, RWD with factory wide body fender flares, how can you not love it???

A lot of you have very interesting cars from what I am reading. Post up a few photos if you have them.

My usual DD if it's below 85F. 2006 Yamaha FJR1300AE (electric clutch model) with long range accessories (FARKLES)

We call it the "excess-mobile". Excessive speed (100 MPH in 2nd gear), horsepower (145), weight (700# wet). A friend pointed out once it has bigger brakes than most pick up trucks around here.

1969 Datsun 2000. Also a DD if it's cool enough. Wish we had more twisties around here

Supercharged Toyota Tacoma. Good for hauling stuff. Rattled my fillings out which is why I got the Coupe

Wife has a 540iA with the "M" package. Apparently, like others on this forum, we don't own anything slow.

BMW 1M (since January). E39 M5 before that. I looked seriously at a Maserati GTS and a few of the AMG Mercs but to me I just don't see sporty and automatic going together.

On the other hand, I also have this, which I would never want in anything other than floaty-boaty auto.

Edited to add: I guess I already answered this (but without the pictures). My wife tells me this is one of the first signs.

A 2003 330D Touring.

Rock solid car, still feels like new, especially when compared to other cars the same age or younger like Audi, Volvo etc. Is how you can really tell BMW builds better cars......

How I would love one of those. I daily a 2003 325 IT. We never had any engine options in North America with this body style. Mine has been updated with 330i trailing arms, axles and brakes.
