Sacrilegious maybe but on my Malaga coupe I glued a rubber hose to the drain and never had a problem. Sometimes simpler is best, not always I know.
The new ones look somewhat different. These have a hard plastic insert and then the rubber grommet. The grommets seem pretty hard at this point.. DO those yellow plastic parts it inside the grommet?Just pry it out and use new ones before installing in the coupe, once in the car one side is near impossible to replace
Ahh, you raised my other question. You powder coated the pedal box. How did that work out?Scott, I ended up buying new throttle shaft bushings. They have a different appearance, but work just fine. I didn't want to go as far as I did and re-use the old ones although I am sure that they would have been just fine to re-install after powder coating.
That's my other option...i would probably use a black epoxy paint. brake fluid is pretty tough on all types of paint, but epoxy might be one of the better ones.
On restoration we powdercoat. On Engine engine bay refresh we paint.Ahh, you raised my other question. You powder coated the pedal box. How did that work out?
Don says he paints them, but I was thinking that it lives a pretty hard life being stuck out there under the brake fluid reservoir...
Thanks, but I think I'll get the full refresh kit from W-N. Need the acc pedal and the other pedal covers anyway..Looks awesome! I think I have an extra set of those bushings if you want - I had ordered them but then also ordered a full pedal refresh and they were also in there. And yes, be glad you’re putting them in now, that was quite an obnoxious job to do in the car
74 and later e9 is same as e12/24/28.Other question:
I will soon be test fitting my Getrag 256/6 to the M90 engine.
I am assuming I need the E24/E12 style slave cylinder and clutch release mechanism.
What are the differences between this and the E9 setup?
so I guess I'll use the E12 style clutch fork and pivot. The later E28 based E24 used a somewhat different slave and master setup. Not sure about the fork and pivot74 and later e9 is same as e12/24/28.
Yeah, I figured that out early on. I am using a 5 series bell housing, so I guess that means I'll need a new slaveThe 265/6 won’t work with the 73 and earlier bell housing and slave setup.
I had mistaken the raised steel pivot part as part of the bushing itself (thinking there were two parts to it). Mine were some odd yellowed hard rubber. That same bushing fits e3 and a Neue Klasse cars.
