does that M88 engine needs a "speed" signal to his ECU as it gets it from the diff in a oem M5 ? which of course you don't have in a E9 diff.
You can replicate this quite easily. Friend had a few adaptors laser cut a few years back which bolted onto the rear driveshaft with the same pattern as a electric speedo diff. You then ran a standard bmw speed sensor to it and voila

Removed “crumpled” 47 year old bushing from control arm and wondered how to get the new bushing into place…

Great fun.

me too replaced those bushings once and couldn't get them in. I suppose those ( W&N parts ) were bigger in diameter then oem.
I cut them in half , so i could mount them as a front and rear piece. Even then i needed quite some force with a bolt/washers and impact gun.

Thanks Cornishman.
I did the first version. It was certain to bend. My buddy, Posha, did version two out of mild steel, then painted Rustoleum aluminum.

Dash reminds me of a Spyker, my neighbor has one which sits in his garage below a Dinan M5.

THATS FUNNY AS MINE S38B36 DROPPED RIGHT IN
THE FIREWALL JUST TOUCHED SO I TAPPED IN A 2" SQUARE SPACE ABOUT 1/2"
AND ALL WAS CLEAR EVERY SETUP IS DIFFERENT.
TRANNY MOUNT LOOKS GOOD I USED THE M5 BRACKET THAT BOLTED RIGHT UP CLEAR.
ALSO THE WATER PUMP AND FAN HOOKUP -- I ONLY HAD TO CUT DOWN THE DEPTH OF THE FAN MOUNT
AND I HAVE A GOOD
1-1/2" CLEAR TO THE RADIATOR.
WHAT ECU ARE YOU GOING TO USE
THE STOCK MOTRONIC? IM STILL TRYING TO FIND SOMEONE TO HOOK UP MY DARN LINK UNIT
MADE A MISTAKE GOING THAT WAY -SHOULD HAVE KEPT IT STOCK
OH WELL IT WILL GET THERE SOME DAY

Aearch, the transmission mount was required ‘cause mine was originally an automatic.

Megasquirt is the “new” ecu control. Thankfully I have help with the electronics on this conversion. However, it isn’t finished yet.

Returned car to the warehouse and took the day off.

Engine tune/management and another round of door/window alignment are next.
Then, maybe, maybe, drive the car.

BEAUTIFUL UNIT
HOPE IT RIDES WELL W/ THE CUT SPRING
SEEMS TO BE A DEBATE ABOUT IT
Thank you for the kind comments. I’ll let you know how the springs work out once the car is drivable.

Lots of work (and rework) and the responses provide motivation to keep the project moving.

B-Quiet water protection inner door panels had to be removed to realign the doors and windows, again.

So, I cut them out, flipped them over and reattached the to another outer “skin” of B-Quiet that I’ll use as the new water protection barrier.

Double Quiet?

Great fun.
