I went from 3.5 inch lips on the rear to 2.5 (5.5 inner barrel) as didn't want too much stretch with the 225s. I might go to 3 inch at some point with them

MOT and taxed, she is now road legal for the first time since 1988!
With the legal bits done started to get her all polished up. There was still a fair few marks from when I flatted down previously. Only had a day to do the car so not perfect but far better than before and gave the engine bay a clean. Correction has really helped the paint pop and is purple under artificial light with some blue under natural lighting.
Cleaned up the engine bay, next is to fit the 2000CS bumper, mount the alarm siren correctly, fit plates back on and take her on the first proper shakedown run

The exhaust manifold is a piece of art!

Its been at operating temperature for extended periods of time about 30 minutes or so and not had any issues so far. Heat management is the biggest worry for me currently however
25 mile shakedown run, other than the drivers door deciding to pop open nothing to report! Sound is incredible, goes like schnell, surprised at how complaint the ride is even with the coilovers, polybushes and stiffer rubber bushes.
Few little pieces to do to her tomorrow then ready for Gaydon!
Also fitted the rechromed 2000CS bumper on today with the rechromed original license plate lamps as the new ones from hella are just painted plastic

Spectacular. That’s the way the rear bumper should be… simple and gorgeous.
250 miles yesterday, car drove absolutely great. First show and was a pleasure seeing so many of the forum members there. Car got plenty of love and parked up with all of the fantastically restored CSLs even my lowly peasant spec model didn't seem out of place. The sound is incredible. I've not taken her past 4000 yet whilst still running in but seems to come on cam right around there and the noise is intoxicating
A few things to fix
Drivers quarterlight needs adjustment as above 65mph some serious wind noise
Electric vacuum pump seems sporadic in assistance. Sometimes I have lots, sometimes none. Hoping it's just adjustment
Need to redesign and re print the centre caps as lost one on the way back!
