Chamonix 3.0CS Restoration

It's beautiful! I see no reason to paint a solid color base/clear. It's impossible to tell the difference if both are cut and buffed to the same level. It's just more passes with the gun and a bigger chance of runs, drips and errors.
I'm fixing a car for a friend and painted a bumper, fender and door the other night. Base and first coat of clear went on so good that I hated putting on more coats. I know the odds I guess. ;)

The coupe returns home on Monday after only six weeks. He has an opening for anyone local who needs prep and paint, he does not replace metal. There is a lot of jewelry waiting for it at home (just ignore the grandkids’ toys!).

Now the real work begins! I plan on taking four months as I need to replace the headliner too and work on wiring under the dash. If Paul Cain likes the gaps and alignments and finish then I am a happy camper.

I am taking my time as every part needs to be cleaned and checked first. Alu parts have been polished and shot with Gloss Clear CeraKote, tail light cover painted with a custom grey mix I had made for our 2800 several years ago. You can see how Storm Grey is a bit too dark but I think Warm Grey (not shown) is too light.
