Awesome work!
I see you upgraded the bulbs to 4W.
Did you reset the odometer back to 00000?
Did you fix the fuel tank needle to F so do you never have to refuel again?
Were you able to vacuum seal the left most instrument so it does not get condensation in the winter?

The little details.

I just repaired / re-worked the speedometer for my 1600. It is a very similar mechanism to the e9. While mine is now in better shape than it was before I started, the work I did pales in comparison to yours. I am inspired. Beautiful work as always.

I'd take the opportunity here to drill a few holes in the back and sides of the left side intrument to keep that condensation from forming.

thank you Arde,

4w bulbs, yes, hope it does not create problems on cables and rest of electric system

the 00000 was in my thoughts, but then I considered several factors, including MOT inspection being suspicious, …and finally decided to keep somehow the real count

yes, the F letter (V letter for Voll, in my case) was also in my preliminary intentions, but I realized that it was jeopardizing the re-fueling experience (you talk to other car drivers that drove the exact same model back in the seventies, and you pay taxes to contribute to things you do not want to contribute to), so I decided to leave it free

i would like to fill that left side instrument with Freon, I tried, but it was impossible to keep the gas inside, making it gas tight was an overwhelming task

the divine details, as Mr. Nabokov puts it…always like the details, yes

hi Steve, it did not happen to me
I never had condensation in this multi-indication instrument
but I will stay alert,
fortunately this is the easiest one to remove

If idiot lights are meant really for idiots, the higher the wattage the better.
In your case you can stay with 2W because I think you had an oil pressure gauge (and because you are smart) :).
