@deQuincey; I have the feeling, based on the various pictures from original cars, and on colors that e3/e9 owners have choosen for their airbox, that the production at the time used various shades for the airfilter. I am not sure about it, but it is just a hunch. for a part where the color is not that important; who would care if it was a tad lighter one year vs the previous year? I know that where I work in our production of high end consumer products, it happens all the time.

So, was this correlative for e9 ? Were 212 cars before mine ?
Considering the 2800 was previously produced, is the 213 referring only to that year 1971 production ?

being mine a 3.0CS too, can anyone make the cross check between the stamped number and the production numbers:
213 to 17556 = Delta = 17343 cars
5/1971 to 1974
was that a 2800cs production figures from 1968 till july 1969 ? so 1877 cars ?
They apparently started over numbering the coupes with the 3.0CS.
