Swedish 1973 3.0 CS restoration

36 Months after restoration began I collected the car from paint today. Very pleased with the result. Doors and lids are only put in place to be able to get the car home so there is some aligment work to be done.
She is a beauty, well done.
And all done in just 36 months , to such an exacting standard.
I wish mine was progressing at such a rate
Keep up the good work !!

Thanks for all kind comments, they keep the spirit up!

Next task, restoring the dashboard. Wood veneer was cracked and in bad conditon. I re-veneered with walnut veneer, stained it and laquerd it. Im satisfied since it was my first try but learned allot.

Looks great !
Did you paint the differential or did you get that powder coated also?
I have bought new seals for my diff and I am hoping that I will just need to change the oil , seals and paint it .
Maybe I should check backlash or something.
On that note, what oil should I use ?
I am just wondering as I will be doing all of that work to mine also.

I would recommend taking off the silver paint off the contact areas of the disks - the paint when you first use them may cross contaminate the pads.

I was unsure if it was some sort of special paint that would burn off - but did not take the chance knowing my luck the brakes would have faded and I would smash up my car on its first outing.

No, I blasted it and them handpainted with epoxy primer and a dull 2 k black paint. Changed all the seals etc but otherwise it looked fine so I did not so anything More.
I filled it with Castrol 75W90

Interior picked up from upholstry, I love it!

Porsche tartan in Olive in centers. Recaro front seats (aftermarket).

The "A"-post and struttower was not very nice.. I made a simple jig to make sure the struttower went back in the same place as intened.

Since my budget is quite moderate I try to make as many panels that I can by myself but I chucky order from wallot was requiered anyway.
omg! Incredible work! It can only be described as a work of art. Congratulations on the work to date.Kudos
