"The 74 has the larger 22mm bar vs. 17mm on earlier coupes"

Going from to 28mm still made a noticeable difference for me, and this was just upgrading the bars (springs and shocks done previously). I think Scott will be happy with this upgrade. If he's not, he can swap back and sell the bars to another forum member.

What could be better than spending recklessly with someone else’s $?

Well, ok if the packages were being shipped to My garage it would be better...

Speaking of packages sent... do you want me to send the pop up wind deflector to you or are you still planning on visiting NH?

Just got back from Bennyz Rod Shop. Here's the video update.
Highlights:
  • Meet Rocky, new member of the team.
  • Also, meet my 2 standard poodles Susie and Rhonda!
  • Got tires/rims on. Looks good, especially after they were put on the right way....
  • they convinced me to get rear anti-sway bar. There is already one in front. Please help me decide which one to get. If via W&N, let me know soon so I can add to the order I just placed.
  • Benny seems to want me to buy custom cut sound deadening material for engine, but Gary thinks we should source locally. Any thoughts on this are appreciated. Should I add to W&N order buy elsewhere?
  • How do you think the wheels/tires look? Is the rear low enough?
  • Gary was able to clean off some rust using vinegar and water.
  • Next week, more priming, with painting I believe the following week.
How am I doing?

98% of the content in these 32 pages of discussion could have been bypassed by going to an E9 specialist like LJ, VSR1, etc. But I also understand why you want this done locally. If you think about the value this forum has made to your project it's got to be in the 20-40 man hours (@ $75hr that's a grand)

... make a small donation to the forum .... and my shirt size is L ;-)
completely agree!!!! I am already a paying member but more than happy to make a larger donation. I forgot what I did, but clearly this has been super valuable to me, and hopefully MANY others who want to embark on a similar journey. DM me your address, email and size and happy to send you some www.scottevest.com love, and anyone else that has made a significant contribution to MY BABY.

Scott, any plans to pull the engine?
NO, not now. Had the cylinder head replaced with new thanks to @sfdon along with new cam shaft thiny and new weber carbs. it runs pletting strong for me for now. maybe need to replace seals at some time i guess. what do you think? i do hate the carbs as i live at 6000' altitude and travel often to sea level. i think i am going to have to learn how to tune.

I have asked Gary and Benny 10x times if they need them and they assure me no. Should I just order new ones anyway?
tell them they are wrong. if they tighten the nuts on the belt trim too tightly, the paint will ripple ... and its not as tight as you might think. see the pic below. the shims from Carl don't stop this but greatly diminish the possibility of this happening. Chris is also correct, wait as long as you can before putting the belt trim on and this will also greatly diminish the possibility
