Trunk Roundel Gasket

ran across this photo of a very original coupe ... and i think you can see the gasket under the trunk roundel. it looks like the lip goes under the roundel base

When the item being used over a flat rubber gasket, depending on the thickness, is tightened up, it will draw ino the rubber and look like it has a lip around the edge,

I'm in for one also.

I came back fro my last drive this week sans rear Roundel. I have not looked yet, but are the correct raised letter roundels still available?

Hi Steve -- can you provide for me the measurement at the largest part of the oval; measuring as if installed from top to bottom.

That is the same gasket that I have. It looks to me like they shrink. It shouldn’t fit like that on the bottom.

They are a little bit stretch but I’m guessing it would be hard to get the old gasket to stay put.

Hi All -- Apologies but I've had some life matters intrude on my car stuff and needed to put this off. I am back in communication with the fabricator and intend to get a couple of prototypes from them. Will update again next week.

I would probably be in for 2, depending on final configuration, color and lip
But I like the 3D printing idea, I don't think you will get the lip with dye cut
The lip would require injection molded or 2 part glued together
There is a guy in the UK that reproduces rubber parts for old motorcycles, that are complex moldings
On the 3D printing, I would model it to the correct shape, not flat, have the shape of the trunk in the form
