What did you do to your E9 today?

OK. Will give it a go... But do i get the replies etc in english too

Yes, as being a Dutchmen I speak both German and English, but almost always I start talking in English on Kleinanzeigen. Most times they will reply you in English, the most Germans do speak their languages.. ;)

Today I got my CS back from VSR. They installed the hot water bypass to keep the cabin cooler and a new Fritz Bits exhaust system.
Thank you @OCCoupe for the information and comparison to other SS systems. Throaty but quiet until you step on the loud pedal.View attachment 116329

Hey Stan, looks very nice. Can you make some sound references for us for future reference? This system looks really nice and I notice the additional center resonator which probably tames the sound more than my Coupe King system with rear muffler "carrots". Way back when (around 2012 I think) there were not many stainless options for our E9s and Coupe King's system had recently come out. I did some before and after sound file references on Youtube for others considering going non-stock 2.5 inch stainless systems (my son actually did this as he was in high school media class and had borrowed a HD camera - or afterwards what I called a shakey cam). Overall I'm happy with the CC system but would prefer a little less decibels with more of a refined throating sound as you reference here. Hope to see you and Great White at East Coast events this fall?

Got very annoyed at the rust and built a sandcastle.

I put my first window in. I had been holding out in case my wife allowed me to paint the car, but that didn't go well, so I'll be driving her green for another 6-12 mo.

I was dreading this process, and it still beat my expectations for difficulty, so I was not disappointed.

Had a great day today. I went to my the first car event in a year. Sonoma Raceway north of San Francisco had SVRA vintage races along with a car show sponsored by Hagerty. I signed up for the car show and took a buddy as that was the only way to get into the event. The show was only about 100 cars and was dominated by America muscle old and new along with a few Porsches and one Aston Martin DBS V8. My coupe ended up getting first in class for 1970 -1989 stock. It was just a beauty pageant with no criteria, so the award carries little importance other than to show people love the timeless beauty of the E9. The best part of the day was seeing other cars and talking to other car guys in person. We also got to drive a couple of slow parade laps around the track during the lunch break.

I cut holes in my dash wood. Before you burn me at the stake, know this:

1 my wood is shot, and I have a new set to install, so if I regret this I’ll not cut the holes in the new wood. (But that’s ignoring that I also cut through the steel:)

2- I mixed albums in the studio for 20 years so while I was planning on putting my tweeters in the door ashtrays, it is not a great place for them. Sound is important to me and The sound in my car is amazing right now. I don’t have a nice motor to listen to.

3- my car is already a Dr Suisse experiment in most other ways, so what have I got to lose:)
