What did you do to your E9 today?

as my seat frames were converted to Sparco sliders for the racing seats i now had to redo something for the oem seats.
Those are laser cut 6 mm alu plates fixed to the sliders and with mounting holes for the seats. Those oem seats are wide !

same time i filled the air space under the seats with rubber foam that will be supported by the (vented) plate. That will give a firm seat , not sagging a inch as usual
Could be added in oem setup also , perhaps a plate of 3 mm would be sufficient + some foam filler.

I drove my Coupe on a gorgeous winding 100 mile loop along Pacific Coast Highway 1 and the redwood covered coastal peninsula hills south of San Francisco. The drive was a BMW CCA group event with about twenty five cars. Most were newer M cars, but we did have one 2002 and a E36 lightweight along with my E9 to take most of the attention away from the newer cars. The leaders set a fun safe pace through the twisties that we sometimes shared with bikes and motorcycles.

Yes, along with Highway 9 and 84 and smaller local connecting roads.
We stopped for lunch at Alice’s in Woodside, which is the place to be seen in the Bay Area if you have a cool sports car. It had the usual Lambos, Ferraris, McLarens and Tesla Roadsters in the parking lot. But we were astounded to I see a silver McLaren F1 driving away!

Had a quick shake-down run (about 70 miles) through the foothills with a couple friends

high pressure steam cleaned the bottom in preparation of bitumen paint. Always a nice job

and applying bitumen coating even nicer job ....

finaly found a solution for the 1/4 cut away spoiler air inlets, didn't look visual good....after repairing it 3 times i got enough of it and cutted down that spoiler. Build for circuit use , no rally....as i found out

Now this is a plastic pipe piece, turned down to the approx 75 mm of the spoiler bores.... but what makes the "finishing" touch ? Quizzzzz.....

Today I spent a couple of hours securing the heater to the car. Yesterday I spent a few other hours wrestling the unit in and under the dash. What fun. I was temporarily emboldened today when the right side holes lined up perfectly with the studs, and attached the flat washer, lock washer, and nut, with comparative ease. Glove box out of the car made a big difference. Feeling of great pride quickly subsided however as I moved to the left side. With my head against pedals, light somewhat close to illuminating where I was to thread the nuts for the left side of the heater. I contemplated how in the world I was to access those 2 remaining studs and place a flat washer, a lock washer, and a nut onto a stud I could barely see, let alone line up a thread perfectly, without this 3 part system just falling back onto my face. I removed the demister duct and could actually get my hand on one stud, the other, I could reach with a 1/4 inch socket with extension, and if I adhered the washers to the nut and placed nut inside the socket, I could get it threaded and eventually tight. Done! I must say, the 1000 lumen portable light has helped me see better up and under that dash. What a job!

I feel your pain! I did this seven years ago when I installed the b35 and will most likely be doing this again on the Chamonix project.

Yikes Chris, we are not getting any more flexible! I see now why owners say they wish to never do this job twice. You, however, get the benefit of experience

Drove up to the Fuelfed Coffee & Classics in Ft Lauderdale this morning. It had a decidedly British flair but a few coupes showed up including myself and Drew along with a very nice Bat CSL tribute with an M5 engine.
